New structure: radar net installed in 0.0 systems.
It would work in a way so you could see on separate map/list all ships visible on dscan that are within systems that installed radars connected to this net. Owner could specify what information is displayed: all ships/ Alliance ships/ neutral ships
Radars could be destroyed by average roaming fleet and would require active defence, or one could hack into the enemy radar net to get info from this for his own usage.
I think that this would increase need to fight in null systems by also providing something usefull for owners. Gratest problem would be to balance hitpoints and price of radar to encourage defending it instead of simply replacing it by another. |

If I hacked into it, I'd like the ability to put false information.

This. Null is already so hilariously safe that it literally ruins the game. Game play, good game play, is where actions on both sides (all involved parties) determine the outcome. What we have now is a system where people have to let themselves be caught; it doesn't matter how skilled the hunters or antagonists are because local/intel/3rd party intel tools are so strong that all the cards belong to one side - hunter's being good rarely has anything to do with it, ratters being careless has everything to do with it. Basically it should not be possible to attain those near perfect levels of safety in supposedly dangerous space.
They said ESS would help - then people realized ESS are more effectively guarded by rats than players.
They said Siphons would help - then the API stuff happened and they are worthless.
They said nerfing null WH would help vs force projection, but now local is even stronger at providing total security.
When or if null becomes actually dangerous, it will be far more fun.

I would agree to this idea on two conditions:
- Local is removed from Null-sec (no, this will not make it like wormholes... there are gates, defined asteriod belts, cynos still work, and logistics for anything is FAR easier).
- This system is not, and cannot be connected to API codes in any way shape or form (see: if you want to know what is going on, you have to be in the game).

The API does give out far too much free intel.

If you want intel channels, populate and maintain them. Don't expect the game to do it automatically. |

Even if local was removed this would be way to powerful
If you want to know what's on dscan put a person in range to scan himself
