You get used to it after a while. Empty vessels make most noise etc.
The game design had racism built into EVE right from the start, with Amarr imperialism and Minmatar slaves etc. But playing styles are now the dominant differential so (FW apart) the in-game discrimination has become carebears vs griefers.

Well from what I can tell, the hi-seccers are mad at the low/null-seccers because if they wander into low/null-sec they'll get killed.
Apparently, this has made the low/null-seccers angry at the hi-seccers because the hi-seccers won't come to low/null-sec where the low/null-seccers have gank-fleets sitting at jump-gates waiting for so much as an Ibis to attempt to wiggle through, then all jump on it so they can lord their superior skills over them.
I'm sure if all the hi-seccers would just waltz into low/null-sec in single-file lines carrying as much loot as possible then that would make the low/null-seccers happy.

Mate, I hate to break it to you, but you're playing completely the wrong game, if that's what you really want.
EVE = open-world, non-consensual PvP-based sandbox, and that's what makes it what it is. Full-stop, end-of!
And that's coming from an Empire-space/wormhole, kinda-sorta-but not really carebearish player!

I do agree that maybe standard hisec pve, mining etc income should be taken as an index value and the lowsec & nullsec ones adjusted accordingly, taking into account the increased risk, but that's just internet economics not hate.

Most of the haters are RL sociopaths, they play up in game because if the acted that way in RL then they would end in Jail or an early grave.
Sociopaths like to have power over others. They consider people who dont have power to be weak and insignificant because they cant understand that there are people who dont share their lust for power and control.
Pity them, but dont bother talking to them.

But seriously, I don't think its really a hate thing. More about respect and intimidation. A mind frack if you will.
The threat of destruction is a psychological weapon that has proven itself to be very effective. Frankly I am impressed by its use in this game and is one of the few things that draws me back in. The bantering and posturing is rather delicious foreplay.
ask yourself how many of those "bears" are really 0.0 alts? you might be surprised by the answer

I assume you refer to the null players who come up to be ninjas/flippers/gankers/greif decers as the haters. But it's not really hate. For the majority, there's about as much hate directed towards them as you direct at those red plusses you shoot in your mission. They act a certain way, and they'll drop certain rewards when you kill them, and they're of little consequence no matter how many threats they spam local with. |

That being said, this whole coversation is packed with idiots on both sides of the divide that are missing the truth of the eve experience.
They don't realize that many (maybe most) people in this game are bispacial (or really omnispacial if you will) like bonobos. They slide back and forth between the various regions experiencing the thrill of each. They pump life into each region as they explore the deepest reaches of known and virgin space enjoying their diverse gaming oportunities.
