Hello capsule Pilots.
I have a Problem With EvE, when playing with my RAM set to 400mhz (it is 400mhz RAM) My PC totally locks up sooner or later. The earliest Lock up was at the Login screen, while typing my Account data. The latest was somewhere in space. It can occur anytime after starting the EvE Exe.
Setting my RAM to 333mhz works fine, i can play all day long without any errors, very Strange. Well its a workaround, but rebooting all the time to switch to 333mhz isnt so funny.
Playing other Games like Armed assault and Anno1701 works fine @400mhz rate. Even a long anno session which sucked my Free Ram down to 50 mb doesnt bring up a crash.
I am in need for help. system: Amd 3800+ GF7900GTO 512 mb PCIE(forceware 73.91 driver) Geil Ram 400 mhz 2.5-3-3-6( 4x512 fitted) asus a8n sli premium board with newest bios and chip driver

Thanks for your fast reply, its worth a try. But i dont know which latency u mean. Guessing the 2.5 number has to be set to a different value, since its the only value with the word latency behind it. If yes, does higher mean increasing the value or go closer to zero...
(running ntune optimizing software suggest to alter the 6 to 4)
still some kind of clueless

Edited by: Rachen Mysuna on 01/02/2007 17:59:33 well basically if latencies are too tight as too low (lower faster, higher slower more stable) i would switch the 2.5 to 3 if possible and try with them
i think its strange that you dont seem to know much of overclocking and still you are doing it, might want to learn about it more before doing it

nah im really not overclocking. System is unmanipulated. Just played around with the Ram mhz and occasionally found out eve worked at lower mhz.
BTW: Playing EvE with latency 3 now, working very good so far. If that helped, you are the man and i owe u one *bowdown*

Edited by: Grez on 01/02/2007 18:19:26 He's got DDR ram, meaning 200mhz = 400mhz. If your machine is crashing a lot at 400mhz, check to see if:
A) Your memory can support that speed. B) Your timings are set correctly (see other post by other blokey). C) Your processor / motherboard can work at that speed. ---
