Yes please! I hate having to zoom out every time I jump or undock! Originally by: Wrangler Being constructive is always good, explaining what is wrong, why it is wrong and suggesting how it could be fixed is always appreciated since we do need feedback.
What is wrong: Camera is zoomed in on the ship as close as it can be after each jump or undock.
Why this is wrong: It is very annoying for the player to have to zoom the camera back out to a playable distance after each jump or undock.
How this could be fixed: Extremely simple. Add a line to the "EVE\cache\Settings\user_xxxxxx.dat" file that specifies the players's perferred camera's zoom distance for that entire account so that it will apply to all characters on that account for all ships. Fixed. Done. Everyone's happy!

At least it's in the Known Issues so maybe there is hope.

Originally by: JP Moregain I think we just need to ask the right way: make it seem like an uber-cool new feature that they can show on the cover of Eon, instead of just a common sense fix that makes sense for anyone who actually plays the game...
e.g.:
Dear Oveur,
I propose the cover of the next Eon feature an article titled "Look Who's Zoomin' Out!" In order to achieve this pinnacle of bleeding edge gaming 'features' you will need to hire the programming equivalent of the entire region of Mumbai to entirely rehash the existing client (release name "Dragon-Killer I".
The rehash will automatically allow for view to zoom out to a pre-set distance from the players ship, post any jump or station exit. Don't worry, this will of course be just to achieve the maximum 'cool, look at the shiny new graphics on my Arazu' effect rather than actually be a useful feature to those jumping into a bubble camp and attemping to exit without being WTFPNZRD!111.
Best Regards,
JP
LOL that's a great idea! ---

Edited by: Par''Gellen on 29/04/2007 05:35:27 If I'm understanding things correctly that have been "hinted" to me by people that "may or may not" know these things this "might" be addressed in the "Kali 2.0" patch.
Now I'm dizzy... And my hand hurts from rolling my mousewheel... . . And I'll have to see it to believe it... ---

We should all put the link to this topic in our signatures too just in case they forget
Maybe one of the devs might click it and realize it's a problem. ---

maybe if everyone in this thread filed the same bug report about it they might start listening...
Unfortunately I doubt they consider it a bug and such attempts would likely get canned as soon as they were received.
Edit: I seem to have had trouble spelling the word "it"... ---
