They sell a soundtrack CD in the EVE store. I Don't know if it has the mission music on it or just regular game music, but it looks like just the regular.
In the EVE folder it looks like they have it all compressed in one of those .stuff files.

All the .stuff files are arj compressed and renamed .stuff. Get any decent zip file manager and you can unpack them. The music files are Ogg Vorbis format, so you'll need a codec for that. Then you can play them or convert to MP3 for your iPod.

He said you could use a zip program to open the .stuff files. If you search for "arj" at www.download.com it lists some zip programs you might be able to use to open them.
The codecs are for actually (playing?) the music after you extract it from the .stuff file with an unzipper. I've never worked with codecs before so I don't know how to use those.

I would like to comment whomever scored the latest couple of "battle tunes". Damn good job on those, and I hope to hear more of the same soon.
We really are in need of some updated tunage for the jukebox.
I don't think any of the new combat music is on the CD, though, that 's been out for a while.

I'm curious as if this is still doable. I've yet to manage to unpack the .stuff-file with either winrar or with unarj32. Have they changed the format?

If its Ogg Vorbis as he said, see www.vorbis.org for codecs and tools.
Zoom Player (google for it) also plays Ogg.
Lastly, converting from Ogg to MP3 is suboptimal because you re-encode lossily compressed data. Might hurt the quality a bit but then I'd assume Eve's music isn't included in bitrates for the audiophile anyway.
Else, your best bet might be checking if that track is on that soundtrack CD. --

Have you tried renaming .stuff to .arj?
Even though it's .arj format, some stuff won't open it unless it has the proper extension. (similar to Quake 3's .pk3 files - just plain old zips.) ------------ Ezra Cornell

No, renaming it to .arj is not working and a .arj decompressor also wont decompress it.
Fail.

Edited by: Erozz on 06/11/2007 19:11:48 Damn. if only there was a website where i could enter the words "stuff" and "unpacker" in to it and it would lead me to another website where i could get a .stuff unpacker.
If someone could create such a site, i'm sure it would revolutionise the Internet.
