Make Jita a dead end system?... I mean lol, simple? :D
This way people don't have to go through Jita to get somewhere :]

nope, jita is a dead end system already, because if you jump into it, you wont be getting out inside an hour. honestly, it would be quicker to get out and walk.
space cycleways 4tw?
making jita a dead end system would help the problem that exists there. it would take away the extra people who are just travelling through. however then one of 3 things can happen.
1 - jita lags less because of less traffic 2 - the system next door begins lagging for people trying to get there. 3 - the next system becomes what jita was and the problem starts over.
i remember back in the old days where yulai and ourselaert were the places to go. i along with 400 other random people lived next door in kisogo, and when i graduated from mega newb up to newb, i moved to jita. i do remember jita having 2 ice belts, which i think have been removed because when i was there yesturday i didnt see them. good move, because i mined ice like crazy back when it was worth 300k a unit.
jita is a big problem, and although we can moan all we like. and CCP listen till thier ears fall off, there will always be ONE system that lags like a slug on the highway.

add a 30% sales tax on every sale order that gets put up in there.
if they want to pay 30% extra for selling in jita so be it but 1-2 jumps out they can put up sell orders for 30% less money.
make a hard cap on how many sell orders that is allowed in system without the added sales tax and no system will ever again be the only system in a region that has all items and is so clogged down by lag.
that will clear up jita and move sales out throughout the region

Jita is just a wee bit slower than other systems for me and that is it. Maybe your problem lies somewhere else?

Maybe it is because you only enter when the player count is low? dunno, last time I went through there it took me 20 minutes to get through :D
As for the taxing system, it wont work as the people will just move to a different system, Making it a dead end would eliminate the hassle for people that only need to move through Jita normally to get to some other random system

All Jita's belts are gone now - until the latest patch it had 8, I think. The Jita/Kisogo gates are offline too, so you need to go through Urlen and Perimeter before you get to Jita.

Edited by: Ragstar on 02/02/2007 14:33:47 If you don't think the taxing will work because it will just sales shift somewhere else, how about this?
Make the tax increace proportionally wit the number of active sales orders in a system/station. That way things will have spread if they want to have low tax ... no matter where a bunching occurs, it will drive up tax there, and people will move. Repeatedly.
Negative feedback damping ftw :)
P.S. went through Jita a few times (omw elsewhere) just before the patch. No real lag problems, and that was before my hardware upgrade. 500-600 in system each time.
