Where in the world are you playing from, the DoD? I don't know of anything like that for this game.
Seriously tho, are you trying to completely bypass a corporate firewall without permission or something?

ok let me put it in simple english so all you people can understand!
MSblast worm attacks campus computers. System admin blocks all incomeing and out going ports except 1's for internet and AIM,ICQ, ETC... I complaign to System admin. He compromises and says i can connect through a proxy that will let me use any port as long as i connect through it try to find option on eve to put in proxy server info. cant find option = NO PROFIT!!!
i'm starting to get really upset cause for 5 months i have to call my bro up to change the skill i'm training!!

Edited by: Athan on 11/12/2003 18:39:07 EvE itself doesn't have anysuch proxy support in it ('Connection Sharing' or ICS or NAT are *NOT* proxying in this context).
If it was me I'd be using a linux machine as my outbound gateway onto the college network, have it redirect the packets to a local program that would then use normal proxying protocols to get them out to the world at large.
It's not something a non-techy is going to be able to setup. I'm also not sure there are enough people in your situation to justify a CCP dev spending time on putting proxy (probably SOCKS) support into EvE. Alternatively you could see if the admin will open up not a whole port, but a specific ip:port combination. The one you want for EvE is 157.157.139.10:26000. A combination that specific is highly unlikely to get abused by ANYONE, let alone a virus/worm.

i already had him open that port befor but there was a problem with that
i ask admin to open 1 port and he dose i got to play for about 2 weeks 1 student finds the open port for file shareing soon the info spreads around campus soon 50% of the campus is useing that port for kazza, bit torrent, DC++ ect.. students complaign that the net is too slow. at this point web pages are timeing out cause of the lag. port is closed and proxy server is set up. so can u see my per****ament

So, as I said, get him to open it ONLY for the eve server IP. That way the only place anyone can send something to on that port is the eve server, thus not going to get used for file sharing.

It is not a unique problem. I can't play at work at lunch even tho I can surf easily using the proxy server. Eve is fundamentally http based; why can't a proxy setup be added just like explorer or mozilla?

If it's a socks proxy (not a http proxy) then get a tool called SocksCap. This wonderful program can make -any- program connect through a proxy, you just need to put your proxy settings into sockscap, drop the eve shortcut into the sockscap window and then drag it out again to get a socks-proxy version of eve.
The company I work for is very generous, and they let us play games in our lunch break if we route through the proxy. Most people here play WoW, but I play eve, and it works fine.

I also use SocksCAP.. works wonderfull. Simply put in SocksCAP the IP and Socks(5)-Port of the proxy you want go through/behind/over and launch Eve OVER/IN SocksCAP (you need to make a little start-setup-link in sockscap).

All you need is your own SSH capable server outside the campus. SSH-conenctions are not genrally blocked (too bad if they are) Then you do following:
- create user account on the SSH server outside campus - enable portforwarding in the server - configure SSH client (eg putty) to have the "Eve-port" going through SSH-pipe - Login with putty - launch Eve
The great thing is that no-one else cannot not use that connection without having the userid and password and you can limit the port forwarding only to the port EVE needs.
And no... not gonna go through the details. ;)

You can try to make a tunnel to another machine (outside campus) and switch EVE to go through this tunnel. It should work even on very abusively setup networks when you use tunel over HTTP. I used to play like this when my ISP blocked EVE.
Tunneling software available for Windows: http://sourceforge.net/projects/zebedee, http://www.nocrew.org/software/httptunnel.html.
