Fresh install. Complete uninstall of old and deleting of files. Complete new instal no saved settings of old files at all. Did the update it asked to do and I still get diconnects none stop. I cannot stay connected for more than 5 minutes. All was perfect UNTIL patch day. Post patch day the problems started. I have done all the listed fixes in the threads and none have worked. The last resort was a new install. Same prob. Someone tell me how to fix this darn thing.

I don't have a solution, but just wanted to let you know I have the exact same situation. Since patch I get disconnected very frequently.

Earlier I could run 2 sessions with 40 fps without client-crash. Now its not possible to run one without crash every 2-5 min. Tried the fresh install. :(

If you are running any sort of download, uploads, torrents or P2P, or someone else on your connections is, try stopping all that and see if your problem goes away.
Hope it helps,

Ah yes... of course. Only a coincidence that post patch things went to pot. I plan online games none stop. If its the isp i would get discon's there. So why not post something useful rather than being a ****.

I have the same problem, it seems there are a lot of timeouts when I ping the site also with other sites I have no problems, it looks like they have a problem with the bandwidth in the datacenter or something

Ah the obvious must be your fault? 1. Pre patch, no issues 2. Two accounts on separate pcs, one disconnects, other doesn't (must be weird ISP I got, very selective on packets). Random on which account/pc though

I'm having the same problem. Also tried tracert and packets seem to be lost close to the EVE server: 87.237.88.17 (EVE's on 87.237.88.200)

Man, such stupid posting drives me up the wall.
Anyhow, same issue here. Pre-patch, no problem running 3 clients, post patch, I'm struggling to run 2. I load a 2nd and my first disappears and so on. Clearly something in the patch is fubar. I've tried a totally clean re-install also. --==AAA==--

Hi all,
Same Issue for me and another friend who play eve.
He was around for a lan at my place and we were loosing connection at the same time.
We were able to reconnect again as soon as we arrived at the login screen. It is not the connection.
This is an issue with the server/client. On a side note I still remain on ts/vent while being booted out of the game.

I had lots of disconnects when I was playing EVE on wireless. It just somehow can't cope with idling and claims that the connections has been lost. Other games don't do this. I don't know if this can be applied to the poster's problem, I'm just saying that playing EVE on wireless is not easy.

Edited by: Jack Quadros on 05/02/2007 05:26:59 Pre-patch, it was very easy for me to play on wireless networks - being in the military, it's almost all I can rely on. After I patched today, though, I was playing fine for a short time. Tonight, I've averaged six disconnects within a half-hour of posting this. I've utilized two different connections in testing this as well.
EDIT: I'm on drop #7, all within a half-hour... this is starting to become a serious issue.

There is a 13 page topic about this exact issue. This is obviously a serious problem. I'm only on the free trial, but if a dev doesn't respond to this glaring issue in the next couple days there is no way I'll be playing this game. (in fact, I can't even stayed logged in for more than 5 minutes anyhow) Based on what I've heard of CCP, I expect this issue to be resolved soon. With any luck it will be fixed before my trial runs out.

Fresh install, manual patch, successful logon... and drop number eight.
How am I supposed to prepare to wage war against the Gallente if I can't even stay on long enough to jump out of a single system?

That post discussing hardware acceleration in these forums fixed it for me. Its however a pain to have to do that when hardware acceleration is a must for other programs. --==AAA==--

Edited by: Cho''Mar Neko on 07/02/2007 11:44:37 I get dropped a lot ever since Revelations as well. The game will still -seem- connected, but as soon as I interact with it in a way that actually needs some info from the server, it drops to the login screen with (or after) a disconnection dialog with no further info.
So, when interacting with the market, opening a container, checking my skills, etc. the client will suddenly realize it is no longer connected even though it sat there peacefully for up to an hour.
This typically happens when I am not interacting with the game, even if for a few minutes. For example, when I am in a station, at a POS or just sitting at a gate, talking on Ventrilo or some other activity that doesn't actually interact with the client.
The problem started with Revelations 1.1, seemed less with 1.2, but is back in full effect in 1.3 (so I'm not sure whether it was even better in 1.2, maybe I just got lucky).
In any of those situations, I can actually keep the connection alive by polling the server. For example by getting market information over and over again. As long as I interact with the server, the connection lives. Only inactivity seems to kill it.
(and in case people feel the need to point out the obvious: I've tried a clean cache, PC directly hooked up to the ISP without routers and continuous ping to the game server, none of that fixes it, so it is not my ISP, packet loss or pre-Rev files in the cache)

Edited by: Kua Burrow on 08/02/2007 13:29:49 Strangely this problem (disconnecting after minutes or seconds) started for me this morning (i.e. before today's small patch). I have three accounts and one of them is particularly troublesome, disconnecting whilst I'm trying to connect on a regular basis!
I'm really at a loss as to what to do :(.

Just because it's patch day, doesn't mean your ISP is free of blame. ALWAYS check with them first, if it's not them, continue your troubleshooing here.
General advice:
Re-apply EVE to your firewall (remove, and re-add it). Clear your cache. Run tracert's to Tranqulity. ---

This may be of assistance to some people who are having problems. I petitioned it and the GM suggested I rename my cache folder. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but this seems to create a new folder once again called 'cache' (this means you lose some client side settings like personalised keyboard shortcuts and items in the market quickbar and probably other things I am not aware of). Anyway this seems to have done the trick for me as I've been in game for around half an hour without disconnecting - which was unthinkable this morning. If it does the trick for you then delete the cache folder you renamed as that is the thing that was causing you problems.
I'm no techno expert, I just know it worked for me, so it's probably worth a try - just be warned you will lose some client side settings.
If your a little apprehensive at implementing this advice (and I don't blame you ), then petition the problem, I'd say I got a response in less than an hour .
EDIT: You need to log out first.

I have been playing Eve for 1.5 years. I have never had any issues at all. None. Now i can't stay logged on for more than 2 mins without getting Connection lost message. Hopefully CCP will find an answer soon as I know this is from the patch for sure. Never had problems before. Veni, vidi, vici |

I'm adding my voice to this issue.
I uninstalled eve, did a clean install and turned off audio, and im still dropping out every 10 min.
I don't lose adsl sync or internet connectivity when eve drops. The only thing that has changed on this end is the new eve patch.
