Ok, so I have to download the last patch of 37.7mb.
Well, guess not!
In 15 seconds my PF usage will reach from 200mb to 1.25GB limit, and eveyrthing will freeze. My computer keeps expanding and assign more PF file and the usage just gets up and up like a botomless pit. I just shut it down once it reached 1.63GB and no sign of slowing down.
What's up with this? new campaign saying: "j00 old computer got pwnz0red, you gotta buy new stuffz0r newb"

3 GB of virtual memory works wonders use windows memory program

Try to put Eve.Exe on "high Priority" in the processorder. Worked wonders for me on different issues.
I am running on 2GB of RAM, and haven't had a memory leak issue since i am having Eve on high priority. Must be a female client, needs all the attention

I have 512 Ram
The point is that until now I never had more than 500mb PF memory usage (and then very slowly increasing to 600-700mb).
But when downloading this patch it's just sky roketing, what "improvment" they added?

It was only the download process through the client that struggles the PF memory, and this only happened this patch since I allways downloaded the patch automaticly.
Now it's staying nicely at 600mb's

i find eve starts eating alot of ram if iv been playing for a few hours, but not right away.

2 questions:
- Do you use an memory manager program (quickmem, mem manager pro, freeram etc)?
- How much actual physical memory do you have?
If you are useing an memory management program it will keep checking memory status and when it thinks your memory is full it will relocate chunks of data towards your hard disk into a file (this file is called a swap file).
It may possibly loop your progress as the files patched are large and the patcher will inject pieces into these files rather then you needing to download the full files.
To do this in a fast way however these files needs to be loaded into the memory which gets moved to and from hard disk so it can never actually start the progress.
The next problem is then occuring which is called an conjunctive memory stacking leak (an seemingly endless loop of memory consumption also better known as memory leaks as general non descriptive term for a wide varity of causes).
The advise here is to temporarely disable programs like this (if they have that option, otherwise you may need to remove it completely).
If you are not running a memory manager then it is another problem which can be solved (in most cases) by temporarely setting eve's process priority to high.

I noticed the same, during patch download. The mem usage on task manager went through the roof, I had to close a bunch of apps to get it to work.
I have 1GB RAM, and no memory manager running.
Eve runs fine, before and after the patch, just something odd with the patch download.
Try manually downloading the patch from this site...

Manually download the patch... sounds like a bug in the downloader to me.

The client has a nastie bug if you try relogging without quitting from the client completely first.
