3 med dim nos, 1 med unstable neut, 1 recon probe launcher
1 t2 (or domi) MWD, 1 t2 (or TS/DB/domi) scram, 3 phased muon SDs, 1 LSE2 (or a sensor booster 2, but I prefer the HP boost)
1-2 LH (or t2) nanofibers, 1-2 LH instabs, 1 co-pro2 (2 instabs = better agility, more sig; 2 nanos = worse agility, smaller sig; effective speed is about the same)
2 vent rigs
I really really really love the recon probe launcher on it. I should rename my curse to the "spanish inquisition" because noone expects it.

normally i would like to put a neut or two on it, but more nos allow you to have a better tank. you can take on quite a few inties at once.

Anyone wanna calculate how what effect snake implants will have on a nano curse setup? I'm hoping we could get it to about 7kms so it can outrun nano domis and nano phoons, making it the ultimate solo killing machine. Rawr!!! What good are TS nos & neuts when you already have a nos range > 30k with lvl 4 recon & non-faction ones anyway? Also, the TS neut has a far worse energyeffeciency than an unstable one.
Btw, don't forget the 2 vent rigs.

Also, a nanocurse will never be able to outrun nanodomis or nanophoons with equal equipment lvl.

Because in gang PVP you want to be as far as possible from the opposition. And my pimp curse is what it is, a pimp curse. Best fittings, best range.
Thanks for that, but how come nano on bs can outrun a nano on cruiser? Just doesn't seem right, although I believe you because I have seen BS go stupid speeds. This setup is both expensive, second-best mods and very very badly designed.
First of Corpum Nos got 19km base range which is best medium nosferatu one can get.
Second it`s running a 150 mill Mwd, 130 mill Disruptor, 100 mill Shield Booster (which is useless) and 3 Damps.
If something can lock that Curse then a Gistii Small Booster is not gonna be the lifesaver.
4x E50/Diminishing Nos Medium 'Unstable' Neutralizer
T2 Mwd Warp Disruptor II 4x Phased Muon/T2 Damps (Alternatively a Large Extender somehow) Local speed mods is okay.
The thing with faction aka pimp fitting is to justify the price for the effect.
Spending 150 mill on an Mwd doing 25% more boost is not reasonable. Doesn`t take a rocket-scientist to figure that out.
Spending 100 mill on a Booster that gives 28.5 HP/sec on practically non-resisted ship is also pretty useless and waste of ISK.
It`s ur isk and do what u want, but atleast spend it wisely and with some thought.

For a gangsetup I would rather use tracking disruptors. 3 damps are very powerful against a single target, but with TDs you can deal more "damage" in gang since usualyl you have at least 1 turret target there and one single TD is hurting those more than 1 single SD.
Quote: Thanks for that, but how come nano on bs can outrun a nano on cruiser?
It's quite easy. Both domi and phoon have 3 more meds then the curse. Both are with 3 t2 nanos faster than the curse and still have the same amount of low slots free. In addition to this they can fit 3 vent rigs while the curse can only fit 2.
Originally by: Aberash ... only thing im not sure of is wether nano's or inertias are best to use... if someone could tell me.
2 nanos 2 inertias gives the best MWD speed (and highest agility).

I just want to throw this point out there: many of these setups do not feature tracking disruptors, or they mix them with ECM/Damps. Thats great against missile ships, but against anything with turrets, especially on a nanosetup, you'll be nearly impossible to hit if you're running even one TD II. I'm not saying fill the mids with them, but you should have at least one on any nano-curse setup, and probably 2 on any normal one. Not using them is like not fitting Nos on it, it just doesn't make sense.

The thing is that 3 damps + lvl 4 spec will reduce any enemy ship up to BSs (excluding recons) without 2 SDs to below 25k targeting range (and this is for the most extreme cases, scorp and rokh, most BSs will be in the 16-22k range).
So why fit an TD when you do not need it anyways? The only situation where it will be useful is if you engage 2 ships at once and at least 1 of them is a turret ship. Personally I'd rather fit a LSE2 for a bit of increased survivability.

Yes but the Corpum Nosferatu has a weaker nos strength than the TS. Therefore, they both have their own strengths and you cannot really critise it for being a second best mod. The fact that it is cheaper does not always make it 'second best'. In my setup I am looking for a balance of pwn nos strength and range, which makes me want to get the TS, however, taking the criticism constructively I will have a mess about on the curse and see which imo is better.

Believe it or not, but some people do see the 25% speed boost as a good investment, as I see it, it gives me that extra speed whcih you never know may save your life one day. This is the same reason why people decide to train to level 5 on support skills instead of just quitting on level 4. But then again I understand it was just your opinion. As I said in a previous post I am praying for CCP to start spawning the Gistii 10mn microwarpdrive which I would see as an even better investment.
Next you criticise me for using a 130 Mill disruptor, must I remind you that the range of T1 Large Nos is 25km. You want to be outside this range to even being considering taking out a nos battleship successfully. You could risk using a True Sansha Warp Disruptor which gives 28km and about 100 mill. However, this is a pimp setup and tbh I feel more comfortable being 28km orbiting a bs than 25km.
The Gistii Shield Booster was a suggestion from another player that I took into consideration. I think it would be useful to act as a buffer from the intial engagement. I agree if you are in the dirt then the gisti isnt a life saver, however If you are mwding around a missile boat, then the gistii is able to repair that little damage that is inflicted onto your shields. Also, if you find the **** hitting the fan, it gives you that extra buffer to maybe mwd out and warp off. So it is not as useless as you think.
In the end, you are probably right for calling me stupid desiring to spend this much on a curse. However, try convincing me and the other few hundred people who fly with faction fitted ships :D. I enjoy flying the curse immensly which is why I am happy to invest so much money into getting an awesome one :D Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions of 400x120 pixels and filesize of 24000 bytes -Taiatia (mods@ccpgames) |

Good reply Kam.
But, when the Curse is running 3 Damps or Possibly 4.th one switching out the Gistii Booster then no BS will ever get the range enough to lock making the Nos range argument faulty.
Gistii Booster is not worth it because a Medium Shield Booster II can boost 30 HP/sec, fit easily and when flying a Curse cap is not really the biggest issue.
Domi 30k is good and all, but with the Damps it is not neccessary and just spending isk.
Fit the ship more optimal and spend the ISK saved for some LG Snake implants which will add a great deal of defence, namely Speed Tank.
I argue and discuss very badly so forgive me if i came out rude. Belive it or not i was only trying to help.
Good luck.

Yeah thanks for clearing things up, I was a little annoyed at you disregarding my setup but it was partly due to me being so sure of that fitting so i also apologise for sounding ****ed off :). You are correct in that a t2/t1 fitting would do the same things as a faction, but I have lots of fun with the curse and I think fitting better mods will make it a hell of a lot more fun in just the adrenaline rush of risking so much :).

Kam, your onto a winner there buddy.
my setup is very similar except for a few small changes here and there. believe me, you will have so much fun in it solo pvping and in gangs......
oh and btw - the snakes are much needed, more so than any faction shield booster etc.
you should hit 5km/s no problem and it also helps you go 1 on 1 against nanodomi's etc too.
anyways, my 2 cents.
have fun out there.

You could armor tank a curse if you want to use it for fleet battles couldnt you?

I guess the cloak is used at the beginning of fleet battles so you dont get instapopped before you load up {not sure if this is viable, only a suggestion from a friend}
