I am getting into industry and planetary interaction quite heavily and am looking to move out of Amaar into .5+ system. I'm looking for a system in which the Customs Offices are low tax. I would also like the station in that system to have full industry research capabilities.
Does such a system exist?
I'm not currently looking to join a corp however as I'm so tired of being war decked by gankers and having to hault my activities a week at a time.
If you know of a system near/around Amaar that has all of these things, I would greatly appreciate the tip.
Thanks!

Low tax and highsec don't go together, not with the additional 10% (5% with that trade skill) NPC tax you HS carebears are paying. |

in domain there are 5 0.5 systems with research facilities-you will need to go there yourself to check what the poco tax rates are |

Your costs for production and market interactions are reduced as your standing with the station owners goes up. As far as I know the only way to do this is to go out and pew pew a few NPCs that particular Corp doesn't like. Marketing expenses can be further reduced by injecting SP and assigning those to marketing skills (can you believe I almost said "training marketing skills"? What a dope, huh??)

Most of my marketing and trading skills are maxed, including my customs tax skill.
But if a corporation owns the POCO's in a system, they can charge whatever they want for taxes, so I'm trying to find a system where the Corp running the POCO's finds more valuable in a 1% tax everyone uses as opposed to a 15% tax to keep people away.

I am looking, and if someone knows a system that meets my needs, then that would of course save me time, wouldn't it?

If anybody knows of such a system (and no doubt many do), it's highly unlikely anyone would actually tell you.

Also, if anybody knows of a system that contains any of the following...
- a never-ending escalating spawn of officer-fit rats that can be killed by a clever frigate - a wormhole that scoops up miners from across New Eden and drops them in a bubble for my amusement - a gold plated toilet seat - no other residents
...then please post it publicly on this forum so I can move there. |

You can use Dotlan to quickly look for systems with your criteria for research stations and lower security status. You will find less activity if you look for a nearby region that is still be a small number of jumps to Amarr.
You can also use Dotlan to find the kind of planets you want but you'll have to visit each system to find the local POCO tax rate. In the area I searched the typical rate was about 15% with the best being 9-10%. A problem is that the rates will likely change over time because the owners know it's a hassle for you to relocate. If you create P2 on a single planet you won't have to visit the POCO very often so it might be worth setting up PI in nearby low (although rates and PI may not be much better there than high-sec).

The only places with 5% (or even 0%) POCO tax is out in low sec. No troll. But low sec is 99% safe if you know what you're doing. Consider the 1% chance of getting blapped as a cost of business. If the savings from lower POCO tax > gank losses, you're probably better off manufacturing in low sec. |

Anyone with enough money to get a gold plated toilet seat should have the money to make it heated.
How damn hard can it be to put a heating device in a toilet seat? We have them in cars FFS... |

Solid gold , while heavy, is a little warmer and retains heat very well. Stop being so damn poor.
