Since all Marauders are effectively over-tanked, I've had quite a bit of success with a shield fit Kronos. Optimal and falloff with three tracking enhancers is almost on par with two range-scripted tracking computers, with the added bonus of a 25% tracking bonus. I run this fit with a set of Genolution, Ogdin's Eye Coordination, Zor's Hyper-link and the RF-905 and LH-1005 gunnery implants. With a mid-grade Ascendancy Epsilon and WS-618 implant it gets up to 4.17 AU/s.

Wny not drop one of the pimped mag stabs for a tech 2 then pimp 2 of the trackers? I'd be curious comparing performance using faction TEs as I never see them used. Also how would this compare with using blasters with null? similar ranges surely? except the blasters track better

faction TE just easy for fitting nothing less ( well if 0.5% on falloff means anything to you), |

Faction TE's are also much more expensive of an upgrade than a faction damage mod from what I recall, so it's not an equal trade to upgrading/downgrading. Upgrading a TC makes better sense anyways in most cases for mission boats.

Ah yes, 400 mil ISK for a 2 slot shield tank, when a 2 slot t2 armor tank does the job fine.
And by your own admission, 3 tc's do better than 3 te's. Just use the armor tank and get better stats.
I've heard your argument for 350's over 425's before, it's not to my taste (especially when you have 3 tc's to script for tracking), but I'm not going to mark you down for it.
But seriously, stop tying to jam square pegs in round holes just for the sake of it. Your kooky fits are just plain old worse then the norm. |

At least he's trying something. Honestly, this community could use more people willing to try something off the wall, even at the risk that it's less efficient or more costly than what literally everyone else and their mother uses, not fewer. If he wants to keep tossing ideas out there, good or bad, let him. At worst, it may spark an interest in someone to experiment rather than settle.

Soo why don't you then walk to work on your hands, let the sheep use the cars, if you trying to make the game more complex so be it. There happens to be a reason "everyone else and their mother uses"

The issue people have are folks like this https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=472024&find=unread, the op got ganked in a mackinaw that had no rigs an empty mid slots apart from a small (yes small!!!) shield booster. She then comes to the forums, first to complain and be laughed at yes, but hopefully to then seek out a decent fit.
Now go google/eve forum search for kronos builds. What do we have? Arthurs wackyness. I don't think anyone begrudges him just playing with his fits, but he keeps posting them on the forums where new players will presumably look for help when they find them. Thats why its important to put appropriate fiting advice in his threads, so we don't have to deal with some poor hopeless newbie whose undocked in jita and promptly been ganked with:

I don't object in principle to people trying new things, but at least acknowledge that your new things have worse stats than the norm, or are needlessly blingy, or are not what people normally do for xyz reason.
Arthur is currently the most prolific thread creator on the web, and people searching for good fits are likely to stumble on one of his fits. It is the way of things for publicly posted fits to be critiqued. And in this case, the review is not favourable. |

Maybe you should push back from the monitor for a bit. You're entirely too negative... I prefer the 350's over the 425's because they have a faster rate of fire and twice the ammunition capacity. I find them better at picking off smaller ships and roughly the same against battleships. Some players prefer neutron blaster cannons with Null ammo, so hey - whatever works.
I honestly don't know what the problem is. It's not like I don't post a disclaimer with my 'abstract' fits, and I certainly don't claim that they are the cheapest, perfect or ideal fit for all agents and regions. I would welcome more of an open dialog for discussing ideas and takes on more traditional fits without a lot of the hostility.

If he's not running into tanking issues(which no marauder should), then why not ignore the armor rep bonus? If I can shield tank something to squeeze out more dps in the lows. Then why not?
Granted, I wouldn't take this fit into a 10/10, but for level 4 missions I could see this easily doable. |

He hasn't squeezed out more dps. He has the same dps, worse application, worse tank(which as you've pointed out is irrelevant if it's still sufficient, until the following point) and is a loot pinata. |
