Okay.... How can people say Cap Batteries mixed with Cap Rechargers are better than just Cap Rechargers?
Example: Dominix, Energy Grid Upgrades 4, Engineering 5, Energy Management 3, and Energy Systems Operation 4.
2x Capacitor Control Circuit I's 5x Capacitor Recharger II's
QuickFit gives this a peak rate of 68 cap/s.
Swapping out 1 Cap Recharger II for Large Capacitor Battery II and the peak rate drops for 62 cap/s, the more I swap (I did this for up to 3, so that I had 2 Rechargers and 3 Batteries) and this dropped further to 49 cap/s.
So how is it that people can figure batteries are better sometimes? I'm sorry but frankly I can't see how. Unless this is for lesser than Battleships, in which case it might work due to their much smaller capacitor capacity.

Once there was a "XLarge Cap Battery" entry in the market. It was something like +2000cap. This would have been better then a Cap Recharger II. But someone in the CR2 Cartell paid someone to remove these.

A cap recharger II gives a 25% increase in cap/sec. Anytime a battery fitted gives a greater than 25% increase to cap amount, it's better.
For instance, if you have a ship with 1000 cap, fitting a 200-cap battery is worse. Fitting a 300-cap battery is better.
Unfortunately, the fitting requirements for batteries are so high that there are very very few examples of situations in which you have a ship with a small enough cap to benefit from a battery but enough pg/CPU to fit one without seriously compromising the setup.

This used to be the case, then CCP doubled the cap on all ships but not on the batteries, making the batteries worthless.

yeahh that is teh point. Batteries need to be doubled.

The only ships where batteries might be worth fiting first instead of rechargers are cruisers, and maybe a handfull of frigates. Battleships and battlecruisers, rechargers all the way from start to finish. _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

As said, anytime a battery gives a larger % increase to total cap then the recharger gives to recharge time, it's worth it.
That said, large batteries on cruisers is win. I would never ever fly my basilisk without a large cap batter II
