Perhaps time to finish that episode of the vid u released a trailer for. Id hate to think the trailer was some sort of mindless propoganda. It looked cool. Any progress?

"Any progress?"
"Hi guys. Yes, it's been a while since I've given any updates. The reason being is that most of the crew (including myself) have taken some time away from this project to focus on our professional lives. Many of us are professional contractors and freelancers in the business, and the first of the year is ALWAYS the most busy time of the year.
I stay in contact with almost everyone working on this project, and when the time is right, production will once again pick up.
As far as production is concerned, we are over the hump. We have a ton of great footage already and every aspect of this movie is falling into place. Don't worry folks, it will happen, just not sure when."

That video will never be finished and everyone and their cat knows it. The only reason it keeps getting bumped is their fanboys and alts keep bumping it. Everyone else has gone off in total disinterest and wathed videos that (a) actually have been made and (b) are probably better. Its the Duke Nukem 3D of the eve video world. I guess it could be called propoganda, but really I think its ego at this point.

If u log in game and read my bio u will probably discover I am definatly not a fanboi of bobs. Tbh, i thought the preview was really well done as did a lot of others. I havent seen any news about it and thats why i asked. If indeed it was constantly being brought up by fanbois i think i would have heard more. However, thanks to BoB, (despite the fact that U are ingame enemies :)) for the info and look forward to seeing a final release.

I'll point Biff to this thread and maybe I can persuade him to release a sneaky peak.
I assure you all the progress, however small is made every day. New models, new effects renders or whatever. It still amazes me how ambitious we are on what is essentially an entirely part time project. Nearly all the guys working on it have full time jobs, and anyone who works professionally in 3D graphics will tell you that that work in itself is enourmously time consuming. Sometimes you just don't want to come home from the office and do some more. Sometimes you do.
It'll be ready when it's ready, and that, as always, is SoonÖ ....

1) I guess I am neither a cat nor everyone then. 2) And that is a problem because? 3) I am neither a fanboy nor an alt, still I have interest in this project - regardless - so please only conclude yourself. 4) Aren't you supposed to be writing Duke Nuke'em For(n)ever? The 3D was made rather quickly. 5) Yes, its propaganda for Biff Steels ingenuity. Since its a 3d rendered movie, it won't help as propaganda in-game. 6) Ego? Whose? Yours or Biff Steels? Regardless I fail to see what point you are trying to make with that statement.

Agreed. The only people who have constantly made very good videos (from my limited viewing experience) are BoB, Outbreak and MC. Of course I still haven't seen all of the other videos people have mentioned, still need to check out Farjung's Vindicator videos everyone keeps yapping about

OK, I think I should first give you a little history of how this project started. One day I approached Molle and a few other Evolution founders about an idea I had. I wanted to make a little promotional advert for the corp and spoke about my ideas on how I would set this video apart from all the others. Work started on the promo and after time I had recreated a few of the ships. When I showed a few people in the corp my progress a couple of the corp members had been playing with writting a tool to extract the game models. Lots of R&D went into figuring out how to get the models extracted. All the work finally paid off and we were successful in getting the models extracted. Soon after, I started work on the trailer footage. A few months passed and I had my first rough cut. I showed this edit to the senior members to get some feedback. Keep in mind, this was still a one time promo piece and no other future was intended for this project. After said people viewed the rough cut they were amazed at the results and insisted that there be more to this idea. Once I finished the trailer with all the final effects and compositing we decided at the last minute to add the infamous screen "Episode I Coming Soon" and then it was released to the public.
Episode I was born, and I soon started writing a much larger story. A few weeks passed and I started getting requests from community members who had seen the trailer and wanted to be part of EpI. Some of these people were professionals in the film and TV industry. Before I knew it I was working with 12 other people. This is the point when my role in the project changed. I became the project lead since I was the common association with everyone in the crew. I found that my time was spent in all aspects of the project. Sometimes I would be reviewing a model WIP with one of the guys and the next minute I would be reviewing a composite of a scene. I found it harder and harder to actually get any animation done and I was the only animator on the team at this time. I did what I could but doing this part time was proving to be difficult and slow.
Reality check. This wasn't working. Time to find a solution that would. After talking to several of the guys helping me on the project we decided to condense this idea into all the best parts of the bigger story and create little mini series shorts that would highlight on major events of the bigger story. Think of them as a story being told by random inhabitants who witnessed these events first hand and are recounting the events in their own words. That's what you will be seeing with our first release.
What you will see in this first mini series: 1. A Gallente city 2. A detailed view of a space station from both the outside and inside. 3. You will see people, it's not just a bunch of ships fighting. 4. Rinny narration, yum! 5. Darwin's Contraption in a major battle.
Please please understand for those of you who don't know me that my resolve is as strong as ever to get this project finished. I've spent far too many hours to get to this point to simply say, "Nah, I don't think I want to finish this". I would be a fool and also make those who support me look bad. Sorry folks, I would never let that happen! So I leave you with these words,.....
