We all know that CCP sometimes have a little bit of trouble applying their patches to the servers.....
Therefore i've decided to run a competition for the closest guessed amount of downtime for the forthcoming patch (this monday?)
The winner will recieve a civilian shield booster (Unless a richer sponsor is willing to contribute).
Rules,
1) One entry each player
2) Your guess doesnt have to be exact, the closest guess wins (higher or lower).
3) reboots, etc will not be considered. As soon as 1 player gets on, the countdown stops.
The timing will be done by myself or a Dev if i can get one to tell me the exact times of the server shutdowns etc

And why would it take that long? The only thing that might take longer is the redistribution of the roids and some database cleaning...

The patch itself will take 3 hours, plus an hour for the daily 1 hour downtime. The server will be up for 1 hour, then when agents start dishing out skills every other mission it will go down for another 4 hours.
Total time, 8 hours.
*Second thoughts this does sound a bit optimistic. I highly doubt if any of us will be playing eve on Monday after the servers go down. |

EVE will come up before then, but it will have problems and have to go right back down...hence 12 hours till "playable"...but 5.5 hours first off.
EDIT: Just re-read rule about reboot. Changed guess to 5.5 hours

Considering the fact that I am on holiday from Monday and weas looking forward to lots of Eve I sispect that it will be 6 hours, after 2 hours of server will be up asap, they will give up and accept everything is fubar and it will take an hour to delete all the stuff they done wrong and 3 to put everything back correctly, just a guess but..............

CCP can prepare for a huge drop in players (ie: loose much income in $$ ÇÇ), when implementing the non-empire-BS-mining, JIP feature, change in mwd's and afterburners with the implementation of the patch this Monday! |

3 hour then every system with 4 or more people in will get stuck, no ones cargo canisters will work and every time you use a med slot item you will get kicked to desk top or your computer will crash and back to loading windows, but no-one will notice because nothing will realy have changed.
