Hi,
do Omnidirectional Tracking Links increase range/tracking of Fighters?
if yes, does this work only when the Carrier with the module has them deployed (not assigned), or does it also work when a ship with the Fighters assigned has the module?
PS. and where do I find such information?

No, they dont affect fighters. No drone skills/modules affect Fighters except for the Fighters skill and drone control units which allow a carrier/mothership to deploy an extra drone or fighter for every one you fit. -----

Thanks, that's very interesting since the description reads:
"Improves max range and tracking on all drones"
I guess CCP could be more precise in their descriptions ... (after all Fighters are listed under Drones etc.)

Thats where you go wrong: 'drones'. Fighters are not drones, they are fighters.

Haha. So that's why they are listed under "Drones" on the market and in the item database, why the module "Drone Control Unit" is specifically for them, why the Fighter skill is under "Drones" etc.
I know that CCP obviously sometimes refers to them as "Drones" and sometimes they write "Drones" and mean "all drones except Fighters". It's not my mistake, it's CCP's...

It is a bit annoying, but to be honest fighters are pretty sick already. If they have trouble hitting something, I find a couple of target painters tend to do the trick. --------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, the Drone Control Unit also works for normal drones. It's true though that the references are not always 100% sound.
As for their market listing, other stuff is also listed under already existing categories, while not acting like the rest of the stuff. Command Processors for example are listed under Gang Assist modules, but they do not get the CPU reduction bonus from battlecruisers, etc.
But CCP probably didn't warrant creating a whole new item group for them.
