With all the hate on the forums about content players think CCP has messed up or not balanced, its about time for some love. Why do you play EVE instead of some other game? (there are alot of other games...)
Personally, I enjoy the characters being skill based rather than level based; there are many more degrees of freedom to this method over having skills max out based on your level.
That and they've not banned me for being a forum troll (yet)...

Because I do not have to play 10 hours a night every night to stay competitive. My skills are training as long as I log in to switch them as they complete. My girlfriend likes this game much much better than she ever liked me playing WoW, EQ, or FFXI.
Because after two years of being a guildmaster of a Naxx level guild and raiding for 8+ hours every single night to get the best loot possible for myself and my members, Blizzard decided to "reset" the playerbase and make loot better than the best I worked for two years to obtain obtainable by the noobest of noobs by doing simple noob quests in the expansion.

these are the major points why my eve subscription runs over two years now with no intend to change that.

LOL! That's a very good reason!
For me, well, I much prefer skill based games such as EVE and SWG (pre-CU) to level based grind-fests such as just about everything else.
I like EVE specifically because of the freedom I have ingame. CCP has provided an incredibly powerful set of tools to tailor this game to my wishes, and the result I find most addictive and satisfying.
I also appreciate the real time skill system, I have family and job responsibilities, so it is nice to knwo taht I can gain skills just as fast as the next player.
Finally, I like EVE because EVE ROCKS!

No levels would be my vote. I can spend as much time as I want, and the only limiting factor is how much ISK I have to spend.

-No levels/experience as I don't have much time to devote to games.
-Freedom. I can do whatever I want, and so can everyone else. This game is PvP at all times in so many ways. The weak are protected without being invulnerable and the strong can exercise their power without being invincible.
-Client Relations. Believe it or not, CCP has done the best job I've seen thus far. It's not perfect, but nothing human is.
-Size/level/age isn't everything. As someone's sig says "Guile can always trump hardware"
-SPACE FRICKIN SHIPS!!!!

Eve online is the most open ended MMORG I have ever played.
Seriously 90% of all other MMORG you need to spend 75% or more of your time killing NPCs.
In this game you can live off of PVP or off of manfuacture.
The game gives the freedom to pvp or just sit in station and make money.
