I challenge everyone to go ahead and stop paying income tax and see what happens.
This is assuming that your employer would be willing to commit fraud on your behalf.
There are many many many people out there with a lot more money than you and I. If you could legally evade income tax with a crafty lawyer, don't you think they would have done it by now?
For more enjoyment and greater efficiency, consumption is being standardized.

Actually, most conspiracy theories regarding the legality of income taxes stem from the fact that the ratification of the 16th amendment is not legal, because there are minor gramatical differences between the version quoted version ratified by the states and the actual amendment. such differences include capitalization of various words, and the use of commas instead of semicolons. Another main argument is that because Ohio's date of entry into the Union (1803) was not formally announced in congress untill 1953, Ohio was not technically a state untill 1953, and thus could not have ratified the 16th amendment in 1913. Both of these arguments have been denied by the courts, repeatedly.

No state income tax here in Texas either. Only an 8% sales tax on the goods ya buy and whatnot.
It's said that the average American works from January 1 - May 26th for the government. Fun fun fun.
