Hi,
I am just curious. Are those missions still done? Has someone experience and want to sahre some wisdom?
Do you know a webpage that is up to date about them?
Edit: Maybe some experience how good marauders can handle it with the bastion module?
Thx in advance. |

I hear Old Man Star, Rancer or Egghelende are pretty sweet places to go with your marauder. It has to be blinged out, though, and you most definitely need not to have a cap booster fitted - CAP RECHARGERS ALL THE WAY! :)
HTH
Got a HoleySheet1 corpse? I'll buy it for 200m!

I did lvl 5 missions for a year. Without going into great detail I will just say that marauders are not the best idea. Especially in bastion mode. As I'm sure you are aware lvl 5s are in low sec which means people will try and kill you so bastion is a big no no due to being stuck in place for a set time. I used a passive fit Rattlesnake and only did certain missions. Could have done more but in all honesty it took too long to do some of them and was easier to refuse and get another. Isk rewards are a joke but loot/salvage is ok. LPs are massive compared to lvl 4s . I no longer do them because you can make much more from other activities. The only website I know that has halfway decent advice (not perfect by any means) is eve-survival.org.
Any other questions just ask... And ignore the idiots that hide behind their keyboards. |

Check out my old post/threads related to L5s.
Yes, lots of people still run them Yes, they are the highest income you can continually get in the game. (500 - 600 mil per hour till you get bored) Yes, they are in low sec, but low sec isn't that scary if you are prepared (T2 cloak and MWD will keep you out of gate trouble, ECCM to make scanning you down a pain) To complete missions quickly you need a Carrier or a small fleet (I run 3x Domi + Augoror)

Perhaps you should cool it with the personal insults? That's always a good first step in civilised discourse.
Sarcasm is sarcasm, especially for the unprepared. The fact that the OP appears not to have experienced the conditions surrounding level 5 missions or is relatively new to them (low sec locations, the perennial threat of sudden death) would - I was hoping - lead others to pick up on and expand on the fact that unless you're part of the groups that inhabit these systems, they are rather difficult (though not impossible) to run.

This is the big load of bs.
It is in fact easy and very safe to run L5s if you do a total of 2 things. 1) Fit a MWD and a cloak on your ship 2) Fit enough ECCM to bring your signature below about 4.
Hunting L5 mission runners is really freaking boring and no one will do it unless they can easily catch you at a gate or can easily scan you down. If you do 1 & 2, eventually everyone will ignore you because they all learn you're a waste of time to try and catch.
I've been running L5s on/off for years. I'm not on good terms with the locals because I antagonize them about their inability that catch anyone. Seriously if you want to collect buckets of tears, don't gank high sec miners, just take a bship through low sec with a MWD and a cloak.
In that time I have lost a mission ship inside a mission ONCE, probably lost a total of 3 or 4 at gates because I am too lazy to cloak warp unless there is a gang already sitting there.
I have lost exponentially more ships to the NPCs inside a mission than to players.

Wormholes.... it all comes down to risk v reward. LvL 5 missions can be run effectively but require quite some work and effort to do so. I could go into great detail but in all honesty everyone is different and will probably pull my ways apart.
Wormholes also require work and effort and can bite you big time if you dont keep your wits about you but the rewards are abaove and beyond what you can make in missions. |

I don't know any decent sources on the matter, besides this one.
Feel free to point out if there's something seriously wrong with that post.
Edit: although there probably was something else, I just don't remember where.
