I expect "I'm gonna quit because I can't play for 10 min and I feel I need to be a baby" threads to explode on the forums. Although, maybe they conditioned us to not get upset on patch day.

I expect changes that some will love and others will hate.
I expect some to threaten to quit.
I expect many people to come forward with a "better" way of doing...whatever.
I expect CCP to still take more abuse than they deserve.
However...
I expect the game to get even better than it is now.
I expect I'll still have a great time playing the game I enjoy so much.

I only really expect changes and fixes in the patch itself, I dont expect any new items or tech on patch day itself (with the exception of items that have been changed like AB's and MWD's).
I know we will start to get new items and new tech soon, but I expect those to be a few days or a week after the patch and to be introduced by the storyline.
Taken from the May 29th 2003 Devchat at EveGate . <Muaddid> Q: When will sentry gun and station and similar construction pods be introduced on the market? <Hellmar> we have various player owned entities already implemented. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

Just one line:
CCP can prepare for a huge drop in players (ie: loose much income in $$ ÇÇ), when implementing the non-empire-BS-mining, JIP feature, change in mwd's and afterburners with the implementation of the patch this Monday! |

it would be nice for once to expect to kill some pirates, but i guess this gate fix will not let us do that, its just same old same old... only if someone was to be runing away then they might be caught but who is stupid enough to do that? esp since theyc an dock and just log off
oh well maybe one day i can exect that from a patch support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

but then again they would not show up because they cant fly at there elite speeds as before... so they dont want to waste all that time support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

Yup. From what I have seen most if not all of Castor will be met quite positively - but the AB/MWD change will be a cold bucket of water in the face to a lot a folks.

Loraine, please leave sunday at the latest and dont come back. Thank you.
The only thing that worries me is the travel speed changes due to the no-warp field being implemented at gates. I dont want to travel slower, I want to travel faster goddamit !
The rest of the changes will require the usual dose of whiners and doomsayers (see above) to do their despicable thing so we normal people can play the game we love afterwards.

Well, there might be some people who quit because of the changes..
But, I've been on the forums for a while, seen the posts that dramatically claims how everyone will quit, how the game is dying and so on and so on. There has been big changes before, people are still playing, the game is far from dying.
So, no, the game isn't dying, people will continue playing. But yes, there will be a lot to do for the GMs and the vol teams.

You mean the steady drop of players since june which has shown no sign of running out so far isn't endangering the game at all?
Anyway, I expect "travelling takes ages" flames fom about 25% of the eve population.

Well, expect the patch to be rather messy the first days. A couple of fixes entered either in daily downtime or during reboots. Expect one or maybe two client fixes before christmas, expect them to need a couple of server side hot fixes. Expect node crashes now and then for the next week.
Nothing different than the previous large patches, nothing different than in other MMOG's after large patches, nothing different at all and it won't upset me one single bit.
I'll just do as I always do. Try to stay out of harms way during the period. Try to not do things alone so I have backup. Try out cautiously the new feature to see if they work and report it if they don't. Try to play on Chaos to prevent broken things entering the Live server.
All in all, I expect this patch to packed with excellent changes that will need their fixing and tuning.
If all this comes as a surprise to you, you haven't learned from history

You know it is possible she is right. This game has more than is share of the " You think differently than I do so you must be whining please leave." crowd. A significant number of people I have talked to are going to see how it works out but are checking out other options as well. Many people do feel that this patch will lead to even more large corp dominance. Now thats CCP's call to make but make no mistake many people will leave if it does fall out like that. Other people will join, what the net effect is who knows.
PS If you have to describe yourself as normal you probably aren't.

i expect more people to leave than there will be new people joining eve, those that stay will realise the only way to play the game is sit at a gate acting like a pirate and killing anyone that shows up, thus turning more people away from the game

I expect miners in Empire Space will increase ten-fold even though CCP claims they want to get player out of Empire Space.
This patch is a death warrant to many players who want to mine rather than PvP.
Like the MoO player stated, pirates will have more biomass than they know what to do with, however, this will only be initially, then everyone will move out of 0.0 space and the predators of this game will become even more unhappy.
