Edited by: Drajh on 11/02/2007 06:53:21 This conflict is one of the most important in the eve history i think. It's many Alliance and corporation involved (Bob, D2, LV, Red Alliance, Goonswarm, IAC, and many other alliance and corporation).
They come from the south in majority but from the north, the east and the west too.
This war involved a majority of eve 0.0 player.
A little summary of the event :
- RaGoons and allies attacked the -LV- fortress. The number and the lag make this really hard for -Lv- to defend all their station.
- Bob decide to come, they see here a challenge for them, the fight with -lv-. They attack and -lv- can save their capital ship pos. Bob breaking the camp of TCF, IAC, and friend without too many lose and progress to the Ra-goon fleet.
- D2 saw a chance too, and involved their fleet direction : Foutain Region. They come with many ship.
-What the next ??
This conflict is not just a war, it's a global war. The entity involved are know like important and i'm sure that this conflict will change the eve universe (the eve 0.0 universe).
I hope it will be many other important events, and for the first time, a real big fleet capital fight with titan, mothership, dreadnought without lag (CCP go renforce all node of the south :P). And finnaly, may all players get fun.
May the luck, the fun be with you.
May this post be free of smack. |

my question is whether or not bob expected the bandwagoning that is happening... naps are breaking out between longtime enemies, the entirety of new eden seams to have coalesced at least in purpose and action, if not so much in coordination at this point... while I expected that they may have seen something like this occurring, I'm not sure they expected it quite to this degree. Regardless the outcome, I believe that the cluster will be remarkably changed.

I don't think a lot of these alliances will stay in the war long long as BoB / LV + friends can keep fighting back and not lose space. I think D2 is in it not so much to help the others, but just to say look we took some BoB space. But how long will they fight a battle they really dont care about from what I can tell. Same goes for all the other little alliances and corps that have joined in on the fun. Again this is just my thoughts, I could be wrong.

We here at GoonSwarm love bad analogies.
EVE has seen a period of coalition-forming. There have been many small wars against in the Balkans of the south and the North Africa of the east. Neutral powers have been attacked, others have been forced into previously unthinkable friendships.
The next phase will involve testing those bonds. I think the two complicated nets of alliances will consolidate into a more clearly defined bipolar world. The hardest call though is between the two different possible near-term endings:
1) RAGoon/D2 and BoB will both declare victory, but BoB's will be bitter and involve them leaving to play a different game
2) RAGoon/D2 and BoB will both declare victory and continue fighting with no real gain or loss of territory
... I hope LV leaves Detorid/Tenerifis and absorbs their best people into BoB and their detrius into random pirate corps that post about their wars in Crime and Punishment and pretend they're a Big Deal and maybe move into Syndicate in just a few weeks so the real battle lines can be drawn. It's a little unfair fighting an alliance full of individuals who like PVP when we're an alliance full of citizens who like winning.

Will take a lot to get us out of here . We may lose some systems we may gain some more but tbh most of us are just enjoying the fighting on our own doorstep for once. No more 40 jumps to go help some friendly alliance who then stab us in the back.
Can we hold out ? can RACAGOON (why cant CA be called CC then we can call you RACCOONs )take some systems ? Can we make an attack on yours ? Can you guys defend it.
This is not even the end of phase one , I await the coming months with interest.

If you think LV will stand against ragoon when BoB has to go back to defend their **** from the north, you are much mistaken. -------------

if the north break through FIX n Xelas, yeah definitely bob wont commit much for LV. The success for the allies depend on the north's speedy bypass through fountain.
but i think that'll take time, i would have gone straight to delve, maybe they have, quite hard following all this.

Edited by: Dark Shikari on 11/02/2007 18:32:20 The war only has a few possible outcomes.
1) BoB does indeed fall, but they split up and join various other alliances rather than actually disappearing. BoB's allies find new political orientations and in some cases new regions of space, perhaps in the new 8 regions from Revelations. Since nobody wants to have everyone allied, the coalition will split.
2) BoB doesn't fall, but doesn't lose much either. LV loses some of their territory as expected, and the coalition fragments due to massive capital losses from BoB. Many alliances continue the war with BoB, leading it into a long, drawn-out affair lasting months if not longer. Everyone loses, nobody wins. This may very well wear down a lot of alliances to the breaking point, BoB included.
3) Something else happens that totally changes the playing field, nullifying all predictions

4. LV & BoB force a stalemate in the south, Inhabitants of Fountain, Querious, Delve, Feythabolis and the rest, long derrided as "pets" defeat D2s efforts with some help from BoB. LV lose 3 - 4 stations but have them back within 3 months. Goons lose scalding pass.

BoB disbands, after realising they can never win again without beng tainted by accusations of help from a higher power.
The hard core of BoB form a new alliance and many old BoB players join bringing with them lots of industrial assets that ensure a fast rise to prosperity. This also fails because no-one believes that they gained these assets through game mechanics.
The BoB leadership will have to play this game forever more tainted by this stain on their characters

And then magical fairies fly out of my ass and suddenly take over new york. World War V breaks out. The Neo-Communist aAa's declare them selves the owners of Mars, and quickly send their capitol fleet of Vodka bottles to strike earth. BoB then suddenly implodes because the only reason they ever fought together was for the Saber BPO. Without the T2 missile BPO's their guns quickly run out of ammo.
The end.
My story is 87% more likely. --------------- PvP in EvE is not consentual.

It never occurred to me that a stalemate meant victory for one side. This changes everything.

i predict that all alliances within EVE will eventually be forced into the conflict on either side of the fence forming the largest ever online community war zones spanning all 0.0 systems in EVE
it will involve over 10K players waging against eachother leading to the fall and rise of 3 new alliances and fall of many other alliance
at the end 2 titans will be destroyed and a massive blackhole will be formed smack in the middle of LV space
