Hey folks;
General rules:
- Auctions end at 0400 UTC, 28th March.
- Contracts will be put up in Jita station upon close of bidding, provided reserve is met.
- Four highest bids will receive lots; one person may post multiple bids to secure multiple lots.
- Bids via mail will be accepted, and posted here with the timestamp of the mail. Please note that if we are close to the end of the auction, you'll be asked to bid directly.
- Hidden reserve.
- Buy-outs possible.
- 30 minute sniper rule; if someone tries to snipe a lot at the end of bidding, bidding remains open until 30 minutes after the last bid. Bids via mail will still be subject to the sniper rule, but will have a one hour sniper extension timed from when I post the mail bid. Please note that you'll be asked to bid directly.
Lots:
Lot 1: 5 Drifter Hive Element sets, composed of 5 each Barbican, Conflux, Redoubt, Sentinel and Vidette Elements for a total of 25 Drifter Hive Elements; option to convert two sets of Drifter Hive Elements to Coalesced Elements once ARC has sufficient BPCs. 1.5b starting bid; 100m minimum increment.
Lot 2: 5 Drifter Hive Element sets, composed of 5 each Barbican, Conflux, Redoubt, Sentinel and Vidette Elements for a total of 25 Drifter Hive Elements; option to convert two sets of Drifter Hive Elements to Coalesced Elements once ARC has sufficient BPCs. 1.5b starting bid; 100m minimum increment.

FAQ:
Question: what are these even for?
Answer: to be honest, we don't know! They're acquired at great difficulty from the core of the Drifter Hives, and we suspect these could be used for anything from new inputs to player-built stargates to the shiniest paperweights known to man. We just don't know. However, it seems likely they'll be useful for something strange, new, and interesting. At present, the next step is the construction of Coalesced Elements.
Question: how many of these are there circulating?
Answer: not many. ARC is the only group selling complete sets, and only a handful are in public hands. These remain extremely rare.
Question: if you don't know what these are for, how do you know they'll be valuable?
Answer: I don't, not necessarily. However, CCP has started playing very coy indeed with some of their new systems. We didn't necessarily know that Antikythera Elements would be an input for Entosis Links until rather after AKE started appearing. However, while Circadian Seekers and to a limited degree Drifter Battleships are farmable, the Drifter Hive Elements are not easily acquired. If or when CCP uses these Hive Elements as an input for something new, it will likely be without much warning, and with very few indeed available. Consider this a way to get ahead of the game.
Question: if these are so valuable, why are you selling them?
Answer: fighting Drifters is expensive. To provide for SRP and to make it worthwhile to pilots, some portion of our element reserves need to be sold. Trust me, the Consortium and IKAME retain significant reserves of elements for our own use.
Question: How many more will be entering the market?
Answer: Probably fewer than have entered it to date. CCP has made changes to the Drifter Hive that impede gathering elements, and so ARC will not be able to gather as many as we have been able to. Future auctions -- if we have them -- will be for much smaller sets.
Question: When can we convert our Element sets to Coalesced Elements?
Answer: Once ARC has enough BPCs to offer conversion for all previous buyers and current buyers, we will begin exchanges. Please note that this may be one or two months, as Coalesced Element BPCs are extremely rare.
NOTE: if you're a previous buyer, I'll be contacting you shortly to discuss Coalesced Element conversion! Once I have a view of how many conversions are wanted, I can give a projection for when conversions will be possible.

Sure. I`ll bite. I`ll take one of those sets off your hands for 1.5b.
I`m a little concerned about the hidden reserve though. I`d like to support your endeavours but don`t feel certain whether the bidding will eventually simply be anulled...
In fact, I would perhaps purchase more sets if I knew more about the real auction situation. (Feel free to evemail me if that would be helpful.)
