WTF is going on with attribute changes for skill learning, it seems like it's been changed overnight. I see the charisma attribute is now playing a pretty major part of skill learing. I'd like to hope this is a mistake but I really ain't counting on it, seems like every time you just start getting somewhere in this game CCP's design team kick you in the nuts and come up with stupid ideas. I mean come on anchoring needs charisma, wtf ya gonna do sweet talk the object into staying in position in space!?!? Yeah I can see the point in putting it in corp management skills(some of them!)social skills, trade skills and even some of the science skills. It's also starting working it's way into learning skills and surley learing needs intelligence and memory as thoses are the main attributes needs in any learning situation. Just seem to me not much thought is being put into this, must have been a late night meeting that one with a lot of people who just couldn't be bothered

Anchoring has had charisma as it's attribute for ages, so I'm not sure why you're ranting about "changed overnight". It's under corp management, which is probably why it has charisma.

It's also perfectly logical to have Charisma influence Anchoring. In Empire space, anyway. You have to have some kind of permission to anchor an object in Empire space, which is why you cannot anchor a secure can in a .9 system and you need a starbase charter to put up a POS in high sec. Charisma serves you in negotiating the bureaucracy.

To my knowledge, there haven't been any major changes to skills' attributes in three years. Just a couple very minor ones, most recently with Revelations. ---

it makes perfect sense for charisma to affect learning skills. as anyone whose ever spent time in the halls of accademia well knows schmoozing professors is an essential part of getting good grades.

CCP has made charisma more important, that is correct. Since people have gimped thier Charisma that's a problem for many older characters who want to complain, they should have not assumed that CCP wasn't going to fix that. as in most games the stats should be important overall.
Leadership, Corp Management, Social, and Trade are all nice Skill groups perhaps not as used in combat for PVP as much but still an important area of study. CCP should continue to improve skill/stat bonuses so that charisma comes to for front.

There may be a few anomalies, but in the time I've been in EVE, there's been no major changes. And with the exception of the pirate implants, Charisma implants are dirt-cheap, so even gimped-CHA Archura builds can still find a bit of love for those Charisma skills.
No, it wasn't some drunken Icelandic meeting that changed it... that was how the concept of "Heat" got pitched. :)

Charisma was always one of the attributes used in most social, leadership, corp management and trade skills. Advanced learning skills were exactly the same for years, M/I for basic ones, then I+M for two advanceds and P+W+C for the other three advanceds in a "triangle". Research project management and infomorph makes sense to have charisma influencing them too.
Nothing else requires charisma, nothing was changed in the past few years to suddenly require charisma, and even chars with minimal charisma (3) can get decent charisma scores with learning and implants (I have 17.60 charisma now, from a starting value of 3, can get it up to 19.80 if I do the last level of advanced charisma and switch to +5 implant).
So, what is it you were complaining about in the first place anyway ? _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |
