Hi all,
In my 1 year of trading, mining, and manufacturing I have come to learn of various trends and secrets in the manufacturing industry. This has generally been without the help of others as most traders and builders choose to remain tight lipped in fear of losing their nitch.
Lets face it guys, there are many regions and many items so theres enough isk out there for everyone.
What I propose is an open forum for those to share 1 item that we have found is good money in manufacturing, and one item that is a total waste to build. (Good money meaning has a good margin and a good volume per day).
So to kick this off, I will start.

For the newbies..
Hot: EM Rockets

Seriously, I made a fortune (At the time) of making Gremlin Rockets. I made 100,000 of each type thinking people would buy thousands of them because they go so quick.
Well my EM Rockets disappeared so fast I started mass producing them. And to this date I still have in stock about 45,000 Thorn Rockets, and 5-10,000 of EX and TH Rockets. But my EM Rockets sold out over and over again.
Key is to sell them in Startup systems or a couple of jumps from them.

Aren't cap booster 800's like 32m3 and sell for around 5,000/round. I think cap boosters may be one of the few items that are actually LARGER than the minerals used to build. TBH the price per m3 isn't worth hauling and building on site in a HUB is just a pain.

I looked into it because I was intrigued as well and the only way to make it work is to build onsite. Fortunately, where I sell there is enough manufacturing slots in the mission hub to merit buying the BPO, and the margin was quite nice.

Jas Dor: well you might think of it as a pain, but I manufacture everything on site in a hub... personally Im never there, contracts deliver the minerals to the hub and I manufacture and sell it remotly from about 10 jumps away... Yes, I do have to wait in line to use factories, however that is nothing compared to houling ships, modules and ammo from far away... I rather spend time doing other stuff than houling....
That is jujst my oppinion, I dont really care what you think about it...

What the hell, here are a few of my trade secrets
Region: Metropolis
Hot: Inertia Stabilizer I, Misc RAM modules
Not: Missle rigs
This is just a bone I am throwing to everyone: Hek (Metropolis) is getting a lot of traffic, and the one station with factory slots (boundless creation) is overwhelmed (you have to wait 5-6 days for a manufacturing job), so come in and assess the market, make your wares in neighboring systems and bring them in for sale.

I've cleaned up here as well.
The problem is not that people are lazy. The problem is that's it's 18 jumps to high-sec space, with no alternate routes and about 8 choke points.
And at various times, heavily gate camped.
And it's a total ***** to get minerals, so there's not much building on site. You've gotta lug everything out in badgers all 18 jumps, or own your own carrier transport. |

QFT - though it doesn't quite have to be 23/7, if you are work from how say and are willing to log in for ten minutes at regular intervals this is a real gold mine IMO. But not very inventive or interesting :p.
