I was talking today with some people in the office about making a nostalgic '80/90's action star reunion' movie pulling together all the kick arse movie/TV heroes of our childhoods:
Arnld Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallonne Chuck Norris Harrison Ford Bruce Willis BA Baracus Jean Claude Van Damme Steven Seagal Dolph Lunfgren Wesley Snipes Jet Li / Jackie Chan Ron Pearlman (Hellboy)
I for one would love to see this crew all fighting on the same side...
In terms of theme it could a contemporary 'special forces' unit pulled out of retirement for one last op and all dying herocially saving the world from terrorists/china/iran and/or global warming
Or maybe a sci/fi Starship Troopers style epic where the humans go kick butt in a bug infested universe.
In fact the cheesier the better - 'Snakes on a Plane' style -with all of them using their most famous catchphrases at one time or another.
'I aint going on no plane fool'
'I'll be back' etc.
Only thing stand in the way would be egos I guess but the novelty/nostalgia value would be huge and the income potentially enourmous if it was done even halfway right.
I certainly would want to go watch it before they all kark it...
What movie would you like made?

That's perhaps the only worthy film for so many cheesy action heroes.

Hmmmm thats a toughie. . .
Sir Molle True Hollywood story? wait thats a tv show
ok I guess I'll be the only one saying this but the Mega Man and Mega Man X game series left huge plot gaps in the transition to 21xx from 20xx and from 21xx to 22xx and leaves lots of questions especially considering that Mega Man X8 was dissapointing considering how sigma went down so easily.
So Mega Man X the movie.

Toss half a dozen action WOMEN into the foray, and you have "The Chronicles of Amber."

Which film was it, where steven seagull was the special forces guy who was going to rescue a plane, and he managed to 'fall off' during a midair manouvere and fell to him doom? Passenger57? Either way, I was mildly surprised to see a hero die, without doing a single action scene.
I too like Hardin would like to see that movie, all the guys on one side, unlike Hardin I'd like them all picked off and wiped out one by one, brutally and in a manner unbecoming to that of a action hero. Oh, and in my movie the badguy would win :)
Mentioning Harrison Ford, I rewatched Bladerunner the other evening, glad I did, recaptures part of how I see some of the home worlds of EvE. A movie based in deus ex/eve universe would be most lovely, planetary based not ship based.

Executive Decision
I'd like to see a movie based on some of Bernard Cornwell's novels. Mainly the Grail Quest Series, the Warlord Chronicles, and The Saxon Stories. I'm reading Lords of the North right now and its pretty awsome.
A Gates of Fire movie would be nice too.

Saw Steven Segallhosting the friday night project on Channel 4 in UK and man he's got well chunky now, his face was all puffed up and he looked liek he was ready to just curl up and goto sleep. far from the lean mean butt kicking machine in Under Siege.

Harrison Ford, He wasn't really of a 80's/90's Hero character, he performed in alot of sad-drama movies to. Kinda is still one of my favs.
Jean Claude Van Damme wrecked his dad's BMW Z3 not far from where I live, about a month ago, while drunk! Police never asked questions... The amount he moaned or injuries he had stays patient-privileged amongst paramedics and hospital staff ofcourse.

id like to see Akira made into a non-animated movie. Chan-wook Park directs, Takeshi Kitano as the general, Tadanobu Asano as Kaneda. havent thought of a guy for tetsuo yet.

Why? You're already playing the interactive movie
I'd love to see more Philip K. **** novels made into films. "The Three Stigmata Of Palmer Eldritch" would make an awesome film, if trippy.
And definitely seconded on the WH:40K movie -----------------------------------------------

I'd love to see "48" by James Herbert made into a movie.
The storyline is epic, and some of the scenes are breathtaking, with awesome description.
Anyone who's read the book will know how awesome it is, and how much it would take to make the movie reality.

Some kind of Mechwarrior or Warhammer 40k movie would be sweet. And I think we're overdue for a movie about nanotechnology and Grey Goo, seeing as how nanites will be reality in a decade or two.

I have actually secretly been dreaming for about 3 years about a nice epic 3-parts movie about the Warlord chronicles.
I read about 30 or so of his books, but not "lords of the north/saxon story" and Grail quest I found quite boring so pit at away during the 2nd volume.
Everyone knows anyways that Gallow's thief is the best one.

hmm... let me see i already got transformers the movie.
hmm... Id love 'The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever' However theyve already made LotR so something tells me they wouldnt make this even though its like ten times better n much darker too.
So... id sell my soul for a Warhammer 40k movie like the rest of you. Or i would do if i didnt already sell my soul last week for a mars bar and a pot noodle. :(

Proper movie of His Dark Materials or the Old Kingdom Trilogy.
I know an utterly*****ed-up version of the former is in production already.
And of course, an Eve movie. With Newtonian physics. I would like to see the Thorax zipping and flipping around like a viper in BSG. ----------

Edited by: Nuala Reece on 13/02/2007 14:31:27 The Ballad of Halo Jones Which would have to be adapted for screen and directed by Joss Whedon (why does he keep writing those strong female characters? ) really to avoid unnecessary Hollywoodification. This movie must be made, and made well, to make it up to Alan Moore for all the soulless pieces of crap that have been produced by Hollywood out of his work. Either that, or give Alan Moore the rights again so he can write her some more, and then make a movie out of it.
