Hey all,
I'm having a problem in PvP with locking onto targets. I CTRL + Click on a target in the overview and eve starts locking for a second then just stops... this can happen a few times before it eventually starts locking (ie it keeps going rather than stopping after a second) and then I can fire etc. Some people I talked to suggested this was due to sensor dampeners and other ECM related stuff, but it cant be as it happens with pods as well. This has happened with frigates so it cant be a signature issue, and anyway wouldn't that just take a longer time to lock rather than quitting locking entirely?
I've found that if I lock corp members etc it works perfectly, it seems to be locking enemies who have just warped in or jumped in etc. I can hardly tackle when I cant lock them before they get away! Is this a lag issue or something?
Cheers

That's normal; you can't lock someone until they've loaded, generally. You also can't lock someone in the first 30 seconds of them undocking from a station.
Both of these cases are terminated by the person you're locking making any command, such as moving or activating a module.

Ah that makes more sense, I thought it could be something like that! Was just checking that it wasn't my end or anything.
Cheers for the replies

Undocking is bugged, if you undock and someone bumps you its thinks you moved, then they are free to attack you, even if the client hasnt loaded out of the ststion.
Looking to join an allaince with 0.0 access where i am allowed to build poses. EVE-Mail me if you have any opportunities. |

This type of thing happened to me. There was a guy sitting in a hawk in lowsec outside the station for like 4hrs. I got my sniper temp and positioned to put some 1400's on him. 250km+ targetting range (was at 156km) and it would start targetting, then drop. Again and again this happened. I finally had a buddy bump his ship away from the station and was able to target him. I think EVE thought he was still undocking or something... I found it weird whatever it was. ~~~~~~~~~ Hi. I've had the same problem, but its even happened at belts and planets, so its not the gate/undock invulnerability. I've petitioned it before and been told to clear my cache (did it) reinstall my client (did it) and neither worked. It doesn't do it all the time, just randomly every once in awhile. So annoying when you come out of warp before everyone else and don't get on a single killmail...

There also seem to be problems with targetting when you have a passive targeter fitted.
But only certain alliances are allowed to do that. Others just get banned. -- Drone users unite! Support drone whinage |

Yeah... cause that was constructive.
On another note, we all know, build a bridge and get over it.
