Edited by: Sadao on 12/02/2007 21:32:37 ôTrinity Nova Mercenary Services would like to announce they are now engaged in a contract against the forces of Delictum 23216ö û Viqer Fell, 3.2.2007
Intelligence obtained through our contacts told of a formidable enemy, to be taken very seriously; an effective fighting force working for high prices. The professional layout of their website spoke of an organisation that knew its trade.
While paradoxical in its context, our initial reactions were very positive. We were not prescient that we had enemies viewing us as a threat worthy of a war via proxy. Upon hearing the news, the soldiers of Delictum 23216 became ever more determined to show their resolve, to meet our foes head on and defeat them whatever the cost.
This war differed immensely from the wars against the Electus Matari and NamitzÆarr kÆin, wars where we had been on the offensive. Now our Mandate was threatened. The decision was taken to relocate û the frontline bases were left unmanned while our attention turned to the defence of our homes.
And so the battle began, a trial of Isk against faith.
During the relocation, Praefectus Karkoulauskas saw the need to fetch his Dominix class battleship from Magiko. Upon collection of his ship he was engaged by TECOR of Trinity Nova in a Vagabond Heavy Assault ship. As he was travelling alone, his faith was his sole sustenance.
With HIS blessing, Karkoulauskas returned fire. He successfully destroyed the Vagabond and made his escape as more enemies entered the system. TECOR had persisted and gained the respect of Karkoulauskas for his tenacity. Understandably, Scagga Laebetrovo and the rest of Delictum 23216 were in joyful spirits upon hearing the news on communication channels. The first blood had been shed at our hand.
The speeches of our leader exhorted us to follow the example of Karkoulauskas, a reclaimed Gallente who demonstrated devotion, fanaticism and tenacity. To fulfil this, I patrolled the terra irridente to locate the whereabouts of our enemy. I had considerable difficulty in finding them. They were gelatinous - any attempt to grasp hold of them in your fist would be foiled as they flowed through your fingers.
After arduous searching I pinpointed Umek in Rens. As the traffic in Rens was busy that day he may not have noticed me. I discovered which station he was docked in and decided to wait for him. Eventually, he undocked in a Tempest Battleship. With prayers in my heart I engaged my MWD to strike. Unfortunately he docked, avoiding the missiles spewing forth from my Typhoon.
ôBlast! Now he will never undock unless he has made modifications to counter my ship.ö I instantly disciplined myself. Defeatism is treasonous under the Delictum 23216 operating code. My pulse was elevated, sending adrenaline screaming through my veins. I decided to wait a few minutes.
He decided to undock, and to my delight he returned fire. Setting my ship to orbit at maximum velocity and releasing my drones, the fight began. Autocannons raged from the Tempest and missiles volleyed from my Typhoon but he was succumbing. So intent on his destruction was I that I forgot all of my training and failed to notice his confederates enter Rens, who were hastily making straight for us.
My controls flashed red and to my horror I saw 5 TNT-emblazoned ships come out of warp directly in front of me. One of them was piloting a Huginn recon cruiser. Even though my target was deep into hull damage, I felt I had to try and make safe my position, not wanting to lose my ship and the lives of the countless slaves on board. I engaged my warp drive.
My ship started to make its arc to align when the Huginn entered range and fired his engine disruptors, webbing my ship. I thought, ôThis is it, I am doomed û I will wake up in a clone vat to be greeted by Scagga.ö This redoubled my resolve. My drones had kept pounding away at the Tempest terminating it in a tumultuous explosion as my ship went to warp. To say I was shaking inside my pod at the chemicals

Edited by: Sadao on 12/02/2007 21:40:26 ...pulsing though my veins would be an understatement. The TNT pilots gave chase but I had made my escape. I will never again doubt the bravery of TNT pilots. I give my personal respect to Umek for his bravery in battle.
An old friend, Mematar had joined Delictum a few days prior to the war. He is a very cool-headed pilot who knows how to bring the fight to the enemy. I had business planet side so was absent from combat duty for a few days. Upon my return I discovered that Mematar had not lost his zeal for a good fight. He had successfully destroyed a Muninn heavy assault and Curse recon class cruiser in our home system.
Until now, we had been joyous that our defence had brought causes heavy losses upon the mercenary forces, and that the money of the hidden enemy was being wasted. However MematarÆs engagements in our home system raised alarm bells in my mind - the enemy knew we had a POSÆs there.
I was right to be concerned and a meeting was held to decide what to do. We decided to consolidate all our POS in the home system into one. Frenetic activity ensued, pulling together all our defences at one locus.
Upon boarding my ship the next day our fears had been realised. The only operational control tower was in reinforced mode. However the good news was that a Delictum 23216 pilot, Sartura Verdi, had rallied the help of our allies, the CVA. The enemy had paid dearly to commit this act, costing them four battleships.
Now we prepared for the showdown. Rumours spread that the enemy had merely been toying with us, and would reveal its true colours by destroying our bastion in providence. The corp stood firm. The policy was chosen û we would not take one step back.
The Delictum pilots began to coalesce at our bastion. The CVA and our friends at TOHA heavy industries were going to stand with us to defeat the enemy.
ôDefending a system û Amarrian styleö û Solusar, CVA fleet commander
The sight of 10 Carriers and a whole fleet of battleship sent shivers down my spine. Never before have I seen such a selfless show of strength and solidarity. Quite frankly all the Delictum Pilots were simply awed at the sight they beheld. We set to work to defend our home. Both gates were locked down and the carriers began to repair our POS shields.
The wait for the enemy was uneventful apart from a small skirmish with a lone interceptor pilot. The afternoon passed to the peaceful sound of shield transfer arrays rebuilding our POS.
Delictum 23216 would like to thank all of the pilots in CVA and TOHA that helped make this victory possible.
The war is now over. We maintain respect for our adversary. However, beware of the difference, Trinity Nova, of those who fight for their faith, rather than their isk.
A Holoreel of some of these incidents will be posted in the next day or so.

I am pleased to hear things going so well for our brothers in Delictum, and we hope to be as valuable of an asset to the Empire and the Mandate as they are.
For God, The Empire, and the Mandate.

Well done to the forces of Delictum 23216 and all who were able to assist them in this campaign. The victory for God and Faith over greed and hatred has shown again the influence of righteousness on all who will stand under the banner of light.
