The problem is that yes, they should be killable. Let's ignore the one Cyvok lost, as it wasn't really lost in combat.
The problem with making them killable is you instantly turn them from mega expensive almost permanant assets to mega expensive primary target take it into combat and it's gone assets.
Either a very fine line has to be walked... or they need to make them less effective.
In addition, as Eve sees more and more titans, and they get spread out through all the alliances, we'll see a position where every major entity has at least 2 titans. And when you get 2 titans firing, you wipe out a fleet. I don't see that as a desirable game feature. And for people without a titan? Forget ever hoping to take space from someone. Any time you have a gang in system - bang bang, fleet dead.
So while I like the idea of titans (and to some extent motherships) being massive investments that make a single player more powerful, I don't like the idea of doomsday weapons, that are not fired when it's doomsday, but simply fired any time a hostile fleet isn't moving.
I guess some ideas might be to have the cap wiped out when it fires, and the titan held in place like a cyno field for an amount of time. Or to limit each grid to only one doomsday weapon every 30 minutes.
Having said all that I've only ever been doomsdayed once. I'm not whining about that instance, it's no big deal. I'm just talking about in the future where every major fleet has 2 or more titans.

i suppose making them killable would kinda invalidate them ... but they do need to be either killable or limited in the use of there super weapon ... its like having a nuke .. but i suppose you could justify that with the cost it entails ----------------------------------------------- -Who would bring a charge against God's elect ? it is God who justifies- Romans 8:33 |

Or you could just sell more time codes?
Btw, I noticed it is DICE's, not RKK's. Last I checked, t20 wasnt in dice.

I'm not sure if you've been flying against these or not, but you're about spot on. I'm really annoyed by CCP in how Titans work out in actuality, whoever did the QA should be fired.
The part that annoys me most is that they nerfed WCS, noting the obvious game mechanics problems with them, and then built infinite WCS into motherships and titans. What were they thinking? The world may never know.
The one thing I will correct you on, is they aren't really that 'powerful' as far as controlling space. It's very easy to deal with them, as we have been. The problem is really in just that they make the game no fun. While there is a theoretical possibility of killing them, the reality is the pilot has to either have an aneurysm while playing and die while in space, or crash/log out while aggressed.
Whatever developer said a titan can be killed with 20 ships either: a) Has never played EVE b) Is a member of Band of Developers c) Was randomly pressing keys, possibly while asleep/drunk, and the infinite monkeys theory was proven true. or d) Meant 20 other titans.
None the less, when the Titan pilots go to sleep, EVE goes back to normal. The really dumb part is that CCP is fighting the capacity/speed problems, and introduces a ship that's basic function is to create 200-300 wrecks at once. Yet when we make 200 cargo cans as a tactical advantage against sniper warp-ins, they threaten to ban us.

No, we'd probably be laughing about how unbalanced/broken they are. Of course we wouldn't be asking CCP for it, but it wouldn't change the fact that it should be done. They make the game as boring for the alliance who has the Titan as the other side, because your own fleet is no more safe than the hostile fleet from the DD, and the resulting lag is absolutely horrific for everyone in the area.
At some point CCP will realize what they've done. Maybe their new sov changes will include anti-cyno field methods and capital energy vampires/neutralizers.

It would be retarded if a titan was killable by the number of ships the devs said it should be killable by?!
You know, I put too much time farming level 1 instances for my cov ops, it shouldn't be killable by a simple cruiser. Even if the cov ops is unarmed, it shouldnt lose the fight because it takes longer to build and costs more. Not to mention it takes a lot more SP to pilot.
