They already have that one giant fuckoff gun. Remove hardpoints from titans. Highs can be filled with bonused command links or whatever, I don't know. No exponentially scaling benefit to having 100 titans on grid with ~600 command links running (besides the 100 potential doomsdays every ten minutes - there's always that, of course). |

Andski wrote:nobody sane would suggest that 300 battleships should kill 50 titans, but dropping 50 unsupported titans on 300 battleships should be a risky maneuver that can potentially lead to a loss or two
Hate to say it but why not? 300 frigates vs 50 battleships i'd put my money on the frigates. 150k vs 90mil or so. Seems close in comparison to battleship vs Titan prices.
As has been said the original idea of pricey Titans balancing their power has proven to be a poor metric. I look at Titans as the battleships of old when they could whack frigs fairly easily with their guns and torps just instapoped frigates. I don't expect Titans/super caps to stay at their power level for long |

Did a titan manage to overtrack itself in order to necro this thread?
Nerf Titans. Threads like this generally result in anything positive.

Okay, EVE tracking formula 101
Titans dont actually track as good as a battleship. You see, in addition to the turret tracking speed, the effective tracking of a gun in EVE is also determined by the relationship between the targets signature radius, and the guns siganture resolution.
The tracking numbers EFT willl give you presumes that the gun engages its "ideal target", which is a ship in the same class (S, M, L, XL). So its accurate, but only if the guns signature resolution and the target signature radius is equal. For example a battleship gun have a sigres of 400m, which is the same as the sigradius of a Megathron.
If the guns sigres is less than the target sigradius, the effective tracking will be better than EFT tells you. Conversly, if the guns sigres is bigger than the target sigradius, the effective tracking will be worse.
Take a Megathron for example, max skilled with neutron blasters and no tracking mods, implants or boosters, and using antimatter.
If it engages another mega, the gun sigres equals the target sigradius, and the tracking will be what EFT tells you, 0,0893 radians per second. What happens if it engages a frigate, lets say wih a sigradius of 40m? Well, the effective tracking will be only 1/10 of what EFT tells you, or 0,0089 radians per second.
This applies very much to capital ships, as they of course have the biggest guns in the game. An XL turret have a signature resolution of 1000m. Shooting a 400m battleship, its effective tracking will be only 40% of what EFT tells you. |

Andski wrote:Aqriue wrote:Pro-tip: Bring your own cap ships. Yes it does work, just because you out number the enemy 100 to 1 in smaller ships, if they have 1 ship equal to your 100 (lets not forget even if the number of people is equal on both sides, cap ships are a FORCE MULTIPLIER making you outnumbered as well) AND they put in the time to train for it, to aquire the isk to purchase it (including mats, POS fuel, time spent in the oven baking and general amount of effort involved to build the biggest badass ships in EVE) then yes they should be kicking you ass if you bring hundreds of cheaper ships just because you choose to stop at BS 4/5, large Turret 4, and prefer to fly smaller ships most of the time.
God I am sick and tired of the complaining/whining/btching on the boards of "Wha! Wha! He has a bigger ship and killed me BUT I feel entitled/deserve/COMBO-BREAKER destroy that titan just because I brought hundreds of my own friends in frigs/cruiser/BS and they can't hit me....oh wait!!!!!" Unless you plan some brilliant tactic around killing cap ships with hundreds of thousands of rifters before DT, then stop wimping out with the smaller ships and bring some big guns of your own. Cost isn't a balancing factor. "I botted for 3 months to buy my titan i am ENTITLED to victory" fyi 60 titans built in december, heh so much for them being a gargantuan task to build also just post with your raiden/ncdot main because nobody gives a **** these days Cost involves EVERYTHING from time put in of the individuals. Now, when individuals get together...you have an army capable of anything. Why can't you get an army together to smash up these other alliances capable of fielding all those titans? Ah...because you can't be assed to do much more then sit around and do nothing, but then when you do get involved you whine about getting your ass handed to you by those 60 titans you couldn't be bothered to take down before they were built. Stop worrying about the botting rat ships and go for the nut punch...kill the POS making titans (don't worry about the soldiers, kill the infrastructure and civillians then the soldiers fall right behind them). You don't need a bot to shoot those so get an army of your own to smash up POS in a crusade against simple A.I. using alliances, unless you are to half assed to not bother and should just leave them alone, to continue their botting and building of more titans . |

If you've got enough carriers and supercarriers to keep your reps up, you can skimp on the fitting. Titans have a poopton of hitpoints no matter how you fit it. I'm sure CCP will come up with something to get titans back into their capital murder role soon enough. Regards,

Personally, I think the game should be tilted so the side with the fewest, and smallest ships should be able to run roughshod over the side with the most and the biggest, most powerful ships. The ratio should be 1 -10. The biggest fleet should have to hit me ten times to my one. I should be able to one-shot capitals. Why, just targeting a BS should blow it to smithereens, all in my Rifter.
It's only fair. CCP, get on this right away.

I think you should gather your own Supercapitals in secrecy, open a cyno in the middle of the hostile blob and cyno in your own supercaps. Bump the hostile Fleet away from each other so they can't use their fitting services and then rapethe gimp fitted titans with your proper fitted supercaps. Or wait for hostile Supers to bump themselves and kill the ones that get seperated from the pack, you know like Goons did earlier this month.
I also think that Battleships should not be allowed to kill frigates. I think CCP never intended battleships to kill frigates. I mean its unfair to the guys in Frigates who are not rich enough to afford Battleships to be slaughtered by them. I think frigates should just be allowed to slaughter battleships without them being able to hit back. That would be awesome fun.
Waaaaaiiit.... actually, i think frigates should be allowed to instakill Supercapitals. HELL YEAH! |

LOL. Yeah since the Deklein dont enjoy superiority in Titans atm, no wonder you are opposed to the very idea of them. Wonder what the tone would be if the roles had been reversed.
Nah scratch that. I dont really wonder. |
