Okay so i was sat on teamspeak with some friends from multiple alliances/corps and we where chatting about dead accounts counting for alot of alliance fake numbers. So we where deicing how you could tell and i came up with an idea
And CCP i put this to you, Show us if you have the power
My idea is simple, remove any account FROM ANY CORP in EVE that has been inactive for more than three months and place them back in NPC corps. I think this will then infact give us a real account fo how many players are in each corp/alliance.
I also think that any account in the game should be auto placed back into an NPC corp if it inactive for more than three months @ a time.
So discuss, do u liek the idea? Do you hate it? Got a better one? Let me know
Flame/discuss - I open it to you eve

imo corp/alliance history is a part of the character your build and should be kept that way. Forcing out characters to NPC corps etc why not just delete them right away?
It is history to keep everything as it is when a pilot leaves.
So /not signed from me, keep history!
Help me help you. |

maybe just put an "active pilot" for the corporation (keeps a "last logged/undocked" date)
and have corp info say number of active pilots based on that info :)

i dont agree with this if u want intel you should get it yourself, you want a break down of when the best timezone is to attack an alliance to?
who cares if alliance x has 1000 members and alliance z has 2000 usually there fleets are about the same size anyway

Okay your not getting this
Why should corps have inactive members in?
And what the hell has timezones got to do with this exactly?
I said, get CCP to remove 3 month inactive accounts so corp member counts of ACTIVE PLAYERS is true and correct.
It's an idea, so don't personally attack me, it took around 20 of us to come up with an idea like this, sevral major alliance members

I think it would be interesting to get real numbers. Far more interesting would be numbers without alts, however. ----------

If I'm not mistaken, one of the recent patches introduced a way for directors/CEO to see the time of last log in for each of their members.
If leaders won't kick inactive users, I'm sure they'll have a good reason for it.

its called tracking and each corp has its own boot period of inacvitiy shows last log in and location as of 15 minutes ago only for CEO-directors

Dunno about the rest of the CEO's out there, but I boot inactives after a month of not being online.
We live in 0.0, and we can't afford to have people in the corp who arn't active. If you arn't online at least twice a week, "boot" out you go.

I know of some corps who have had members die in RL and not wanted to kick them for this reason, as a sign of respect.

There is a big problem in your proposal: inactive corps
A good numbers of CEO when they get a sabbatical from EVE or being CEO leave a placeolder to keep the corporation live, so they could re-open it at a later time.

Edited by: Mrmuttley on 13/02/2007 18:27:11 I dont personally see a need for this and for a small number of pilots theres good reason not to kick an inactive account.
Just over a year ago a corpmate and RL freind of mine died. As EvE had been about his favourite game ever a whole bunch of us met up in a system where the corp started and said goodbye to our freind. He was one of the founding members of the corp and we felt it appropriate for him to stay inactive in the corp he started. Just a mark of respect for a freind we sorely miss.
As to your intelligence gathering efforts. Its simple. War dec them and attack them and see how many come out to fight. If its more than you can handle retract the Dec.
/edit and I didn't read kappas contribution above before posting this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

No. Managing members is up to the CEO and directors of the individual corps, not CCP. ---

IT's the job of the CEO of a corp to boot inactive members, not CCP, and some people may want those inactive chars in those corps.
I know IF I form a corp, go inactive, and come back to find my char gone from his corp, and possibly having lost all his corp assets, I'd raise hell. So would you.

A booted member will only lose his corp assets if he keeps them where other Corp members can get to them...otherwise it stays in whatever he/she left it in..

Edited by: Topaz Skydiver on 13/02/2007 20:11:00 See no reason to do it.
If the corp wants to kick someone, they can do it. (except he is the CEO and owns all shares, which means that he rightfully owns the corp and corpname anyway.)
And alliance numbers are not that important.

If they end uplosing other members due to being inactive, and they, as the only member left, get booted, the corp closes, and they cannot retrieve corp assets in any way iirc.
