Oh and there are actually a LOT of things that don't make sense in eve, for example that the rarest rig component can be found only in BoB space   And more global ones like you can't hear SOUND in space, but in EVE you actually do hear it and lots more, so please, HUSH
The electronic systems in the pod "produce" the sound to make us feel better. I've read it somewhere.. can't find it anymore though.
I believe its the backstory where the caldari meet with the jove, install some un-trained guy with implants into a pod, then he goes into a state of frozen dimensia. Although there's a fair amount of backstory, and besides whats a game without sound? Well less laggy. ^_^

Yeah that makes the most sense to me. Paused while in reinforced. Materials lost when killed.

The reason I posted is that when ASCN was building their Titan, it was common knowledge that if you put a POS into reinforced mode, you loose all your components. It is what happened to the Trust Capital POS when BoB and ASCN seiged it.
I guess CCP has changed it since or the everyone was just mistaken. I just wanted confirmation on that.
erm, the mothership got out of EC- a couple hours before the seige...
