To any member of the Federation Senate:
I not in the habit of contacting my elected officials. However, I am deeply concerned that Amarr para-military group PIE is attempting or actually constructed an outpost dedicated to converting poor and impoverished Gallente citizens into Amarr slaves.
While this is understandable if any Gallente has violated the laws of the Amarr Empire. And part or all of his sentence has been directed in this fashion.
I have seen messages on Galnet indicating that this new PIE facility will be in Gallente Space. Specifically mentioned was a system at 0.6 or 0.7 security rating.
Is there some truth to this?
Please feel free to contact me on this thread, or eve-mail me.
Thank you.

To clarify things a little, the planned facility will not be owned or operated by PIE Inc. Rather, it will be the property of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Slaves.

Thank you gentlemen for your insightful clarification.
However, from reading recent messages on the Galnet I can really see no differences in one Amarrian group from another. You all want to conquer the galaxy and turn us all into your slaves.
Thankfully I do not meet any of the criteria.
However, since you are willing to converse with me. Perhaps you can provide the system where the new facility is located.

While Director Archbishop also holds the position of SPCS Director and is a PIE Admiral the SPCS daily operations are under my control as CEO. It was I who arranged the visit by the Gallente representative and negotiated the placement of Port Sanctuary inside Gallente space. PIE itself has nothing to do with SPCS operations and is not responsible for guiding our actions. We have an entirely different agenda.
I would hope you would see the nobilty and kindness of our actions in helping these lost and desperate people find the truth of God and the satisfaction a life in service can bring.
The claim we want to conquer everyone and turn them into our slaves couldn't be further from the truth. Amarr has been chosen by God and it is our solemn obligation to help bring the lessor races to Enlightenment. The process of slavery is merely an means to an end and is not for the purpose of "having slaves". In fact a machine is much more inexpensive and reliable as compared to a slave but you can't Enlighten a machine.
By giving the Minmatar and now these desperate Gallente the great opportunity to find Enlightenment the SPCS and Amarr as a whole shows our kindness, compassion and humanity.

?
I don't know. Wouldn't sending in the missionaries first be the first act? Giving those less fortunate a choice.
However, I am led to believe otherwise.
What should happen if a person who chooses slavery makes to this "bastion of hope" only to change his mind?
My guess is that he would shown to the nearest airlock, as opposed to being sent home.
Am I wrong?

As has been specified elsewhere the initiates sign a release giving the Amarrian guides authority over themselves. This legally binding contract ensures the initiates are not distracted from their journey by "second thoughts".
Indeed the term "slave" doesn't even apply here as the "Initiates" are all voluntary and not abducted or raided or any other manner of capture. Even our OPERATION PLAYPEN PROJECT is in fact "voluntary" as the deviants are faced with their perversion and compelled to sign a release allowing us to transport them to safety.
There is nothing evil in our intent only the desire to help a lessor race find its way to God and to serve Him as we all do.

If I may, I would like to ask a question.
In the establishment of the planned starbase, will those 'initiates' apparently fortunate enough to become trapped in your Playpen face the classic Vitoc treatment as per the standard treatment of the Minmatar?
I do hope you will forgive me, but time is not something I have an abundance of at this very moment, as I have a ship I need to pilot through some difficult areas, and as such my initial scan of the press release was brief. However, I must applaud your poetic and cunningly crafted vocabulary in describing what is little more than an attempt to corrupt the Gallente Federation from within.
Sincerely
T Dave

Edited by: Cmdr Baxter on 14/02/2007 08:00:47 Edited by: Cmdr Baxter on 14/02/2007 07:59:11 I hate to break it to you Gallente, but the Federation was corrupted from within long ago. Well before you and I were born or conceived in test tubes, in fact. The fact that you cannot get over your own shortcomings and instead prefer to focus more on beating a dead horse (the well-established controversy over the future of the Minmatar Republic) makes me just sick.
Evidently if the Amarrians are creating this facility then they sense a need for its existence. The fact that you cannot motivate your senators to address this situation, and a foreign national can and will deal with the matter of your less-fortunate citizens should be seen as a bonus to your race. Finally, someone who actually cares about the welfare of your less-fortunate and takes action on the matter, instead of using them as a "look, they're abducting and brainwashing our citizens!" political rallying cry.
If you feel so strongly that this is an attempt to "corrupt the Federation," as one of you ever-so-bluntly put it, then I advise that you actually get out of your pods and do something about it before others are tempted to clean up a mess of your making. Like demanding that your senators enact better welfare programs, instead of leaving your poor and homeless out in the cold. _________________________________

Cmdr Baxter,
Thank you for pointing out the fact that I ommitted 'further' from my corruption within claim. That, on my part, was a mental slip that I will ensure won't happen again. Because, indeed, the Gallente Federation does appear to be corrupt, and I have no qualms in stating that fact. But so do all empires and establishments. And, like all empires and establishments, ultimately, this one, along with the many others littered around the universe will fail - not because of their corruption, but because of a natural desire for freedom on behalf of the universal population.
So please, do not misunderstand my position here, I am not arguing for the Federation - far from it. No, my position here is that I find the prospect of the Amarr spreading their imperialistic values with a stealth tactic such as this abhorrent. Just the same, I'm sure, as you yourself would find it suspicious if, overnight, your little state began to see a rise in the number of Gallente Pleasure Hubs, opening your one-track minds to multiple possibilities of excess. I don't condone it myself, I'm merely saying...
And before I go one more thing: I beg you, kind sir, to please reference myself by name if you are going to lambast me with such a common term as 'Gallente', I would expect such discourtesy from an Amarrian Playpen operator, but not from you. Of course, if you insist on referencing me that way, then at least get it right. I, sir, am an Intaki.
Sincerely
TD

Edited by: Cmdr Baxter on 14/02/2007 18:22:21 "Stealth tactics"? "Imperialistic virtues"? Am I reading this correctly? It's always been my impression that the Gallente Federation and its citizens maintained an open-door policy towards any and all citizens of foreign nations, so long as their activities did not of course threaten the national security of the Federation and its citizens. Since when did citizens of the Federation start to become so harsh and selective in their accepting only certain political groups inside their territory? Or is this just a hostile, xenophobic, and extremely close-minded position shared amongst a handful of pilots within the Intaki community?
This facility has been approved by your government, Intaki. By default even by your representatives, who I'm sure have the power of oversight and the ability to advise and consent to the government's actions. If it had seemed nearly as abhorrent to the Federation government (who I'm sure had better information available than what's been told to the pod-pilot community) as it is to you, then I'm sure that they would have denied the application.
To more directly respond to your remarks concerning the opening of Gallente Pleasure Hubs, then I would assume that those facilities had been licensed and approved by the appropriate state entities and regulatory oversight boards. Of course if they weren't, I (and I think other citizens) would be more than willing to support state action to close those facilities permanently. But that is the way of things in the Caldari State, unlike the Gallente Federation's welcoming-to-all-irregardless-of-background status. _________________________________

I think you are onto something here Cmdr Baxter. These Gallente are well known for their superior arrogant attitudes and their intolerance of other races. While we Amarr help the other races and bring them the gift of Enlightenment the xenophobic Gallente seem intent on potraying a public image of "openness" while at the same time privately being closed minded.

Unfortunately I have disagree with you on this subject. This isn't like they are being enlisted for a fixed term service (like a contact). And given the option to renew.
They can't simple leave Imperial service or be drummed out and sent home. According to what I've seen on GalNet. They are going to be slaves.
And any contract that they sign in Gallente territory that binds them in an act against Federation law. Is an illegal contract.
I don't have a problem that this Amarr corp trying to make some ISK in Gallente space. Heck, I welcome any corporate opportunities in the Federation.
But Federation law is quite clear on the matter of slavery. It was simple matter to stop over at the Supreme Court School on Villore to clarify that.
I'm afraid you will have to come up with something better than that signing legally binding contracts (which I suspect are binding only to Imperial Laws not Federation laws).
And since this such a pinnacle of Amarrian success in the Federation. I am surprised you wouldn't to show it off to Feeration observers.
Did you promise your Federation contact his own personal slave to use for his purpose as well?

Make no mistake Cmdr Baxter,
The Amarr will have you believe that every slave has their path to enlightenment. Then they can become productive citizens of the Empire. The reality is, that the Amarr treat the converted as something slightly better than the average slave.

That is only what your lies teach. Most Amarr view enlightened former slaves as equals or those striving to be equals. There are still prejudices as there are within any society, but the ones we are eradication within the Empire are minature compared to the xenophobia displayed by the Gallente.
There are some who view the Ammatar as 2nd class citizens, and some who view them as equals. Needless to say what their views are, we are citizens of the empire, given our own territory, and allowed to conduct trade and police our own territory as we see fit.
Dominus1, as usual is "causing trouble", and would have you believe that former slaves are still treated only barley better then slaves. Believe what your heart tells you, when Noble and free Ammatar speaks of his freedom within the Empire and the Mandate.
Believe in God or suffer Oblivion. This is your FINAL choice. The only choice that matters. |
