I have mounted multiple 50mm, 100mm, & 200mm reinforced armor plating to various ships. I was wondering if anyone has mounted multiple 1600mm reinforced armor plating I to their battleship? Reason I am asking is:
I mounted 1 on my BS and it upped my armor an extra 2000 hp. If I add more, like 2 or 3 more, I would basically have a decisive advantage over any other BS I come across.
Add a few Large C5-L emergency overload boosters and WALA a monster of a BS is created.

Sure, 6k extra armor isn't that bad, and Large C5-L's are really good for shield tanks, but the 43 mil cost doesn't make you invulnerable.
Edit: Oops, typo.. 1600mm, not 160mm

Yes, I've been flying my battleship with large C-5L + 2 amplifiers + 2 hardeners in the medslots and 3 1600mm armor platings in the lowslots. (on the real server)
It's a damn hard ship to kill. But also a damn expensive ship to loose. So I would not recommend it unless you're prepared to loose all that. If 6 other battleships decides to target you in a fleet engagement you go pop quite fast anyway...

Dalman,
With the setup you are running, and having never seen a 1600mm stats; does this slow your ship way down? I was thinking the plates would give a negative to your speed, is this so?
If the patch on Monday really does nerf speed, will that affect you too much where you might have to do away with 3 plates?
Just curious since battleships are slow as they are, and add a combination of nerfed abs/mwds, and my presumed guess that plates take away speed; it might crawl come monday.

Yeh they do give -15% on speed I believe, but it doesnt hurt too bad I wouldnt think, because 15% of very little is very littly =)

Well, I'm not usually running that setup. I always pick a setup intended for what I'm planning to do...
But, yes, as stated, they are -15% to speed. So fitting 3 will decrease your speed with 39%. And your ship really becomes a turtle...

Any clues as to what race drops the 1600mm plates, as far as i can tell its not Sancha or Bloods.

so far the only place i have looted them has been in cache containers, and forsaken stockpiles in blood raider territory. They are very rare to get too. You will get 5 or more tachs before you get a 1600mm armor plating.
