Saw a frigate warp in, noticed he was a bookin sure enough he made a beeline for the can popped it and warped out Sitting here with a puzzled look on my face a couple min later in he warps, beeline for the can sure enough pop it went out he warps So keep an eye out for Chromal the waypoint thief

Frankly, anyone dumb enough to mine into a jettisoned canned is just asking to be stolen from.
Be smart and you won't get your stuff ripped off.

Well, I wasn't going to put it as bluntly as that, but... yeah, secure cans. Works for me in 0.4 space

went over yer head?
all he got was waypoints to previous jet cans instead of the precious ore he was expecting
ore doesnt stay in the can for more then 2 or 3 secs transferred in then transferred out dont transfer in when others warp in till I get an idea of their intentions

In that case get a fighting ship ready with scram and nos, drop a can there with some cruddy ore and wait... see what he does.

Chromal is just an annoyance. I watched him warp into the belt, start coming right at me. I removed the can into my hauler and he stopped coming towards me. I wounder what he was approaching???
If you want to Jet can mine, make sure you have a way of protecting your goods or killing the theif, if you don't people like Chromal will make you post silly threads. ------------------------------------- The difference between a Pirate and an Anti-Pirate is that an Anti-Pirate fights ships fitted with guns!

You silly tard. Any miner worth her minerals can easily fill a secure can in less than one full cycle.

Took the words out of my mouth. A covetor, even with crap skills, is going to fill a GSC in less than 10 minutes, calling people 'dumb' for mining into jetcans shows a huge deficit in knowledge of mining. The OP was operating in the best method possible, in that he was transferring the ore to the hauler from the jetcan as soon as the ore hit the can, thus leaving nothing for the theif to take other than a bookmark that was being used to hold the can open.
On another note, based on the behavior that you guys who have run into the theif are reporting, it sounds to me like he may actually be running some kind of macro! The fact that the frig clears cans of bookmarks indicates to me that the thief is not really paying attention... why aggress when there is no gain?! -=^=-

Well you are partially correct. If you have the skills to fly a Coveter you can fill a GSC in one cycle or three minutes.
CCP needs either bigger Secure Cans or MUCH bigger holds on the ORE barges.
And I run my barge with 5 combat drones. So pop the a-hole who is popping your cans with your drones. A frigate isn't going to be much trouble with 5 drones and maybe one friend ina cruiser to chase them off. The friend need not even wait by there. If the guy pops can after can then after he pops the first one call your friend, or get your hauler alt in a combat ship for a minute. Because if you fly an Iteron V with 5 cargo expanders you can afford to let the can get a little full while he fetches a cruiser. And its not like a Frigate can haul off much of your ore anyway.
What an idiot that guys is....
The OP was mining in the best possible method and should not be flamed at all. ======================================== Production Assistant of APEX Unlimited Pilot of the ACV Digger (Retriever) ACV Respite (Carcacel)

Warp to bookmark, scan belt, if it's all covetors then warp to the belt and steal from can.
Repeat until miner changes into a combat ship, warp in and be shot at. Dock, return in an evil nos domi or similar and then ransom or kill combat ship.
Repeat until the miner goes away.
Unless he is an idiot, which sounds more likely. I am an alt.

Just do what we do. If someone warps in to try messing with the can, hold the ore in the can while someone from the corp warps in and beelines him while locking on.
Being slammed with a Drake (what I use) with an MWD and nanos will make him move a tad, and being locked to boot tends to drive home the issue.

Think its still a little over some heads Im a miner on 1 account and a hauler on the other Sure I could swap out my covetor to a ferox and blast the frigate he then comes back in a BS So instead of mining im now playing his pvp game which is what he wanted all along in the first place to disrupt my game Im not playing that game Im having more fun lmao at a poor thief who gets nothing but worthless bookmarks for his time and effort Is he disrupting my game if I dont play his? nope Is he annoying me or wasting my time? Nope Im having a blast making isk. In the end he is just wasting his own time.
