What skill if any makes you lock targets faster. Also what skill lets me lock more than 2 targets at once? --- |

Targeting: Skill at targeting multiple targets. +1 extra target per skill level, up to the ship's maximum allowed number of targets locked.
Signature Analysis: Skill at operating Targeting systems. 5% improved targeting speed per skill level. _________________________________________________________

The aforementioned skills as well as a Sensor Booster (and that line of modules) will help you. _________________________________________________________

On a related note, I've trained up Signature Analysis (at level 2 now) since it seemed I was taking a long time to get a lock in missions. However, now I seem to take even longer to get locks! Is it possible that the NPCs are doing something to scramble my targeting? I'm not talking about the indicator that comes up when they're jamming me and I lose all my locks, but this is happening when they're not doing anything (at least as far as I can tell).

The lock time is related to signature radius, if you try to lock an NPC frigate with bigger bounty, it may have a smaller signature radius, then it takes longer to lock. -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast ! Flying Vexor and Ishkur, Myrmidon was too slow, got ganked by 3 BC and a Megathron...

This is also determined by the size of ship you are piloting. It takes a really long time for a BS to lock a small frigate, but the frigate can lock the BS almost instantly. Did you by any chance move up a sip class? -=^=-

That's probably it -- I moved from a Frig to a Cruiser...

That would be it then. If you had got into the cruiser and spent some time in it, THEN trained up the sig analysis skill, you would have noticed a little difference. -=^=-

If it takes too long for you in the cruiser, consider installing a Sensor Booster; I think the bonuses on those modules are quite big, so just one will probably make a big difference.

Guristas jam - Your maximum number of locks becomes zero.
Serpentis dampen - Your lock time is increased, range decreased.
