My apologies:
I keep hearing terms like "All out war" and "Universal war" but the threads I read through are kind of vague. Is there a sort of "What's going on in the galaxy" news source, or a "Who's at war with who?" kind of thing? I used to catch up on my galactic news with Innominate Nightmare's blog, but he disappeared into space, and now I have no idea what's happening in the universe.

as far as i know ...
the northern alliances lead by D2 have a kind of unholy pact with Red alliance and its coalition to attack lv/bob, but the north and red alliance are only allies of convieniance,
Red alliance and its coalition are attacking lv, bob has entered this fray and is attacking the coalition assisting lv, as soon as this happened D2 and the north invaded Bob space.
...but then again it could all be a conspiracy and bob is actually napped with D2

nope.. BOB went on war against redsawrm.... to save LV. Then D2 took the chance and struk bob.
If brute force doesn't solve your problem.. then you are not using enough!! |

Yea this war was started a little while ago it seems a lot of alliances have decided to try and really hurt BoB, The excuse being that it turned out a lot of the rumours about BoB's method of winning turned out to be true [Cheating] i wont say anymore tho or id get censored.

Short description of lead-up to this war for people not in the know:
The major players:
In the south/southwest of the map there is BoB (Band of Brothers), in the Southeast there is LV (Lotka Volterra). In the East RAGOON (Red Alliance/Goonswarm) and up in the North a coalition of alliances with D2 the most prominent, but also including the other ones in the area (Morsus Mihi, IRON, RAZOR etc). Final alliance worth mentioning is AAA, who live in Catch/Stain and Impass.

Setting the scene:
Band of Brothers just came out of a war against Ascendant Frontier (ended about 5-6 weeks ago) in which they conquered Paragon Soul, Esoteria, Feythabolis and which ended in the destruction of Ascendant Frontier.
Lotka Volterra and RAGOON have been at war with each other for ages (first only Red Alliance, later Goonswarm as well). In this war LV had a large coalition of allied alliances helping them against RA, but the last few months have seen each of these allied alliances to LV get crushed one by one by RAGOON, who in turn has picked up a number of allies along the way (Tau Ceti Federation, IAC etc).
In the North there have been a few conflicts, but relatively quiet over the last 4-5 months. AAA has just finished a war with Axiom Empire, in which the latter was removed from the Impass region, which has been taken over by AAA.

Start of the war:
The only running big conflict at the start of the war was the LV vs RAGOON battle, with LV having been pushed back to Detorid, Omist and Tenerifis. Shortly after RAGOON started the offensive against LV's homespace in Detorid, BoB announced its participation in the war, on the side of LV. Centerpoint of conflict there seems to be a system where LV is building another Titan, and which is/was under major attack by RAGOON.
Subsequent to the declaration by BoB, D2 invaded Fountain with capital ships and their Titan, and numerous other alliances announced their allegiance to either BoB-LV or RAGOON/D2.

The two sides:
Most of the support for RAGOON/D2 comes from somewhat smaller alliances living in and around their home area (TCF, IAC for RAGOON, Morsus Mihi, IRON, RAZOR for D2), and AAA has indicated/announced (though I am not sure it was an official announcement?) that they were also supporting RAGOON/D2.
BoB/LV is also getting support, mostly from alliances who live within BoB space (Xelas, FIX, MC, RISE most notably).

im amazed no one ( as far as i know) has attacked former ascn space, as its been recently conquered wouldn't it be the weak spot ?

why would you want to attack a bunch of weak slaves?
it's just not as fun. And it would be used in bob propaganda aswell

We're allied with RA'GOON and hitting LV hard + locking down the systems our coalition is taking
BoB knows LV is in a tight spot and doesnt want our coalition on its borders
2 front war for BoB anyone wanting to give them some payback, NOW is the time to start poking the soft gooey centre

That space is almost pointless. The goal of this war is not to claim more space, it's about destroying the enemy and winning.

Eve Tribune is back up, and it has a very well written front page story of what's going on (Kudos to Jonathan). I wrote a somewhat messier on-the fly collection of rumors, happenings and battles later in the issue. This war sure is going to be interesting...

i know i know im not saying that the anti-bob brigade should attack it im saying im amazed none of the homeless former 0.0 corps and alliances havn't tried to take a piece while bobs back is turned, its not like theres a shortage of corps that have been pushed out in to empire

What is unique about this war is that it concerns both Empire dwellers and 0.0 alliances. It's an EVE-wide war, and the issues underlying it are important to nearly everyone. But, so far, the double-0 alliances are doing all the fighting. How many Empire dwellers have been scouring the recruitment threads looking for a way to get into this fight, I wonder? How many are disuaded because they are just not ready yet to move to 0.0? Well, before I go off topic, just check out this thread: Linkage
What can be done to get more Empire dwellers involved in this war?

Faction Warfare will basically be EVE's Battlegrounds where NPC corp says "KILL!", You say "Aye Aye Sir!" and then come back to see what pat on the back they give you.

might make empire more interesting ( factional warfare) word is factions can take 0.0 stations as well devs are pointing at calderi federation and bob owning 0.0 ( opens new cans of worm)
