I have not used these but was thinking about it. Let's say I have one with stats so that if I spend 100 CAP it will destroy 100 of my target's cap.
What happens if I my target has less than 100 cap? Am I hurting myself by spending 100 cap to destroy his last handful of cap?
Is this a good tool for keeping a ship out of cap or is a Nosferatu a better choice?
How often do ships "tick" up from 0 cap? I have the sense that I would need to stagger nosferatu to try to keep a foe "down" what is recommended on this score?
Do you feel that your use of an energy destabilizer gave you the edge in a fight? When? What was the circumstance?
- Thanks for your feedback and stories.

Neutralizers are best used at the outset of a fight, and turned off after a while. They are best mixed with NOS, so that you can sustain the neuts without having to use cap booster charges as often, if at all.
Neutralizers give the most advantage in fights against an same-sized opponent, or you vs. a larger opponent. BS NOS will kill a frigate's cap in 2 cycles, so it is a waste to use neutralizers on a frig. In a BS vs BS fight, Neutralizers will get his cap dead much faster, and they are almost essential for breaking the cap tank of a well setup capital ship. - - -

Being wellskilled in Energy Emission System also pays off, meaning you use 75% of the cap you destroy.
Using neutralizers you need a heavy offset, either cap boosters or 2 nos of the same size per neutralizer, or a build that isnt cap dependant.
The point is, if you are prepared for the hit the neutralizer gives, and the other person isnt, this gives advantage, as while you murder his and your cap, you are ready to counter it.

Edited by: Mr Peanut on 14/02/2007 22:13:46 They are best used on Amarr recon ships, because the bonus means that they drain a lot more cap than they use. However, you can still make use of them. They are best used in conjunction with nos. In the beginning of a fight, you drain your targets cap by activating all nos and neut on them, and after a while, you deactivate the neuts, but keep the nos on. The once their cap is down, the nos will keep it nice and dry, so there is no purpose in using one for an entire fight.
To be honest, I'm not sure why more nosdomi/phoon pilots (especially the former) don't use them. A single heavy neut and several nos can have devastating affects on a target, when compared to using all nos.
