Hmm, this makes me wonder...is a concord ship....killable? (i.e, IF you could tank one long enough, could you kill one? )

tanking concordoken is possible; ever heard of them petitionin people surviving concord ^^ (that means they musta tanked them somehow right?)
As for how its done: My guess is: -hi-sec pos from the old days. -speed/warp tank. just warp like a girl and everytime concord drops out take a potshot? -other ideas????
As for t2 bpo's well itd be funny to see concord getting slapped by everyone and their grandmother =)_

As far as I'm aware, you can blow up concord ships. The survival problem stems more from the fact that should you not be destroyed in a timely fashion, additional more powerful waves spawn to deal with you until you are destroyed.

Exactly. A while back on my main, before Cold War actually, I was testing my raven setup in Amo. Was just messing around, popping frig spawns from 150k away, etc. Decided to start "cleaning up" my mess of cans. Accidentally targeted one that wasn't mine (Amo is a .5). Oops. So, Concord shows up. I survived about 5 minutes before they finally popped my raven. Took out about 10 of them too. But for each one I popped, about 2-4 more appeared at the initial spawn point they came in at. So, yeah, you can tank 'em for a while, but you WILL get popped. And even if you do pop the ones that are actively scramming you, good luck warping away. Concord likes "deactivating" your ship. Had an improved cloak on just for S&G's, which mysteriously was "deactivated" by concord, as well as my warp drive. Surprisingly, they never target jammed me.

I once asked a friend this question while I was starting the grand adventure that's EvE. He said that he and his corp mates would kill concord for faction ( I think that's what he said ) drops. With about 10 people he said they would farm concord for awhile. Basically one BS would warp in and get aggro, 3 or so logistic cruisers would rep said BS; then more BS's and various ships would warp in and commence to farm concord. They also did this in some no-name system of empire, think it was down south. Now, it should be mentioned that he said they did all lose their ships, since concord "Called in reinforcements from a nearby system," and Concord would be relentless and pursue them if they tried to leave. (didn't want to risk getting banned by evading) He said the loot from Concord made up for the losses of their ships tenfold. This was done quite a few months ago, and I'm not sure it's still viable to do. I know I wouldn't ever try it though!

I wonder, if there was faction police in 0.4 and lower some time ago. Like in Exodus or even before exodus. I remember a raven sitting at a gate and smart bombing the hell out of them. But that must have been 2004 or 2005. It must have been low sec, because I don't think that concord was ever so weak to allow that, but now there is no faction police in low sec. ------ No.1 reason to post with an alt: Avoiding that your main looks too silly. |

I have blown up 1 concord ship before and it only cost me my ship to do it =P Its not hard they are like any other ship just souped up a bit. Just don't even think about surviving it. ----------- "Mercinaries never die, we just go to hell to regroup." -xOm3gAx '99

This question is slightly related so I'll shamelessly derail the topic.
So CONCORD ships can decloak you? Can the navy/police do this too?

Its definitly possible to tank concord, and if you can tank them then as long as they arent invincible you should be able to kill them.
The problem with having them drop t2 loot is that escaping concord is considered an exploit so even if you did attack and blow up a few while managing to get away CCP (assuming someone reports it) would just go back and delete your ship/fittings.

No. The poster who talked about tanking CONCORD, was -10 (an outlaw). The only time it's an exploit:
IS IF YOU KILL A PLAYER IN HIGH-SEC AND EVADE CONCORD!

I only think GMs get involved when you destroy someone elses ship in highsec. If you just damage a can I dont think its an exploit to escape.

It is, and if you're locked down, you die within seconds. Anyone who has ever jumped into a system, and gotten to the gate and warped out, was being shot by an Empire Navy sgroup, not CONCORD.

Edited by: Zafriel on 16/02/2007 12:56:12 If you and an alt warp to safe spot, he attacks you and makes concord spawn, warp out and warp back in at 100km and attack the beasts.
this way they dont jam, and tbh they dont do as much dmg either, but for everyone you kill another spawns but doesnt agro until you do.

Didn't chribba manage to tank concord on the test server with his Veldnought?
2 Cans, one full of stront, one full of cap boosters, until the reserves ran out he was still alive.
And afaik since the Zombie incident in Yulai concord got a major buff "CONCORD lightly hit you for 2506.4 damage"

FYI from my tanking;
Duration: 00:15:11
My Weapons Used
Large YF-12a Smartbomb
Enemies Attacked
Wasp I [OTHER]<OTHER>(Wasp I) CONCORD Police Officer
Damage Done: 27624,00 Damage Received: 686065,40
My smartbombs never popped any concord ship. They both shield and armor boosts themselves, and the only ships in range of the SBs are the frigs:
[ 2006.11.13 20:33:00 ] (combat) Your Large YF-12a Smartbomb hits CONCORD Police Officer, doing 60.0 damage.
So 3x60 damage per cycle and they afaik boost more than 180 during my SBs cycle.
But ofc they can indeed be killed but I never managed to do so, and iirc concord does not drop anything any longer as they have no entry in the loot table, but don't quote me on that.
Help me help you. |

Mission Concord ships are a different (and much weaker) arm of the assembly. I think they got remamed DED whatevers to help distinguish them recently though.

ok all of concord moduals are hardwired into the ship. Which means they drop nothing. they drop nothing. as with customs agents... they will jam a pirate so they cant even lock. my friend lost his Zealot trying this today. all he could do is tank for as long as possible.
