hi yesterday i bought a new tft widescreen for my computer to replace my old crt screen.
the screen runs at 1440 x 900 res but eve dose not cater for this so i had to choose 1280 x 800 res which the screen then automatically streches to fit then.
problem is that the graphic look cartoony now they were sooooooo nice on my old screen running 1280 x 1024 res. Is there any way of getting it to run 1440 x 900? patch or anything.??

Not much of a help I'm afraid, but whenever I connect my laptop to my 1440x900 widescreen I get the option for that resolution in EVE...
Maybe it comes down to the gfx-drivers/-card?

I have a SyncMaster 940bw. Windows resolution is set at 1440 x 900. Eve resolution is set at 1440 x 900. It works well.
Were you able to set your windows resolution to 1400x900? |

Then I would try a fresh eve install... (on a different directory, just to test). |

I run eve on my 20.1" widescreen, in 1680x1050. It works great, with no problems.
If it runs in the above res, there surely must be a way to get the 1440 res working

I'm pretty sure eve grabs the resolutions from windows.
I wanted to run a windowed eve in 1280x960 so i added it as a custom resolution in windows (gfx card settings) and after that, I could pick it in eve.

Please make sure that:
- You have updated monitor drivers.
- Make sure Eve is windowed on the widescreen monitor of your choice.
- I've seen sometimes where I need to reselect my graphics adapter in Eve. In the graphics tab it'll say (for me) "NVidia GeForce 7800 GT". Reselect this and it might update your resolution list.
- If there are multiple entries in this list, try another one.
- Might be a decent go to edit your resolution in prefs.ini

Does anyone know if they plan to support widescreen with 1440X900? I know I can run fullscreen at the resolution but when I click on widescreen I get the black boxes above and below the main screen.

Eve pulls in the resolutions that DirectX detects the monitor can do.
I run eve on a 1280x1024 19"montor and also a 1440x900 19" widescreen monitor, both can be in native resolutions. Make sure that you have a monitor driver that supports 1440x900. ----

Also if you have more than 1 monitor connected, make sure the one you want to play on is set as primary.
Eve shows 2560x1600 as an option for me only when the big screen is primary.
