Ok...
Can anyone explain the concept of deep core mining? I.e., is there a new asteroid to use it on? Do you use it on current asteroids? How does it work, basically, is what I want to know ....
I am familiar, of course, with regular mining that we have now, but I want to know what is different about deep core mining. Other than being able to get a new mineral out of it, Morphite or whatever it is called. Thanks!

DCM is a new type of mining method where special "Deep Core Mining Lasers" are equipped on special mining frigates.
The reason for the frigates is that the lasers require a huge amount of CPU and these frigates have a bonus as part of their stats that reduces the CPU requirements of these lasers.
Supposedly, you use these frigates and lasers to mine an asteroid (new or old types is still unknown at this point) and in a sense it blows up or disintegrates the asteroid where you would then quickly collect the Meroxit (spelling?) ore before it decays in the vacuum of space.
At station you would then refine the Meroxit ore into the Morphite mineral which is required for tech level 2 production/items.
one unit of Morphite is worth roughly 30-50k at base npc price _____________________________________ Perpetually driven, your end is our beginning. "Can I be a consultant for EVE II?" - WhiteDwarf |
