What would the ultimate miners mate be (skilz wize) ofc hauling skills but which hauler ? The I was thinking that exploration would be good cos he could find nice roids sites for the miner. You get the idea .. I hope
So if I want to gear a Toon so his primary job is to be the miners lap dog/bezzy mate, can the commubity help me !!!!! ???

The Iteron Mark 5 the biggest hauler you can get, and its a Gallente Industrial, so I'd aim for that when it comes to hauling, but all the races have haulers and theyr all good. Also, another thing you might consider for a miner mate is to have someone who is able to fend of the pirates that will attack you while mining, some some combat skills will come in handy. I dont think you'll need the exploration skills for a miner mate, but I might be wrong :).

I use an Iteron II for hauling - only because I haven't yet built the skills for an Iteron V.
I use a mining probe in the Iteron to detect which asteroids have the best ores - then I know where to drop my secure containers to mine into.
Other than that I just use shield boosters and/or an armour repairer to make sure I can tank damage. This depends on what type of enemy I expect and the damage they do.
I haven't tried this in low security space yet....but the setup is working well in 0.5-0.6.
So back to skills - sensors and tanking are the most important, and if you want to use cargo expanders, then Hull Upgrades. |

Well the ultimate miners mate would be a hauler/command skilled player.
With max T2 hauler skills, and then leadership skills to gang boost (mining Foreman) and then command ship/battlecruiser for enhancement link mods and protection.

A hauler with Gallente Industrial Skill V for an Iteron V ,and ofc all refining skills maxed.

IMO the ultimate miners mate would be the one that can tractor asteroids to station and mine them right there. :P

Hiya,
Since you are caldari -- go for a nice Badger 2. Then skill for the expanded cargo hold I. After that, skill
1) Afterburner & navigation to 3
2) Fuel conservation to 3 (reduce capacitor use of ab)
3) Evasive Maneuvering (adds ship agility - faster acceleration and warping) to 3
4) Science to 4 (to use a tractor beam)
5) Salvaging to 3
6) Energy management to 3 (reduce time to recharge cap -- helps with running ab longer)
7) Warp Operation to 3(Reduce cap use or warp, key in big systems where asteroid belt is far from station)
8) AB and NAviagtion to 4
9) High speed maneuvering to 3 (lets you use a mwd)
10) Now train for a destroyer. Because a destroyer with 4x tractors and 4x salvagers is a real help after all of rats are killed and after you run missions.
11) Now decide: better cargo expanders, more ranks in your hauler skills or learn to use rigs.
12) After this target a "Tranport ship" so your alt can help when you later go nija mining.
11) Eventually many hauling alts are trained to fly a frighter as well.
That plan will quickly give you an uber hauler that can really help you when you mine and when you ratting and running missions. I've also provied a longer term direction to train for after you grab the small skills.
