This mission is a deathtrap to anyone who does not know it already. Upon entry, you are trapped inside one of the really annoying asteroid structures, and cannot warp out. This is very bad because the DPS coming at you is greater than that of most lvl 4 missions.
I suggest that it might be a good idea for this mission's entry point be adjusted so that it is a few kilometers away from the hugely annoying and path-restricting structure.
If you must do this mission, I suggest getting a buddy to enter in a pod, and move 20 or 30 km off the structures, then warp to them, otherwise you are probably going to die.
This is easily the most dps I have ever seen in any lvl 3 mission, except *possibly* the 10 stage important mission with two battleship fleets at the end of it, and you are expected to defeat all these ships, not hit and run.
Quite simply, this is a account-ender for many folks I think. I lost 300 mill worth of ship, fittings, and rigs because of where I was jammed into the asteroid colony or base or whatever it was. Getting out would have been no problem if getting in had not put me in an incredibly stupid place. I have a mining alt that can make up my losses in just a couple days, but many folks do not. Losing a ship due to what could be seen as intentional placement in a trap on the part of the dev team is bad, very bad.
Ah well, need to head back to mine 200 mill isk so I can replace my losses.

My error on the level of this mission, it is a lvl 4 mission, so the DPS is appropriate.
The placement of incoming ships is still atrocious. Dying simply because you are jammed into a box and can't warp is very very upsetting.

I got this mission as my very first level 4 mission and again recently. I've never been stuck. What did you do? I did "Warp to 100 km."

Same, done it plenty of times and never got stuck, I always warp in at shortest distance, 15 before, 0 now. As for damage, I usually kill the other battleship first, since it does a lot of damage too but goes down fast, then turn my attention to Zor.

Since it's no longer a Deadspace pocket you can warp in at 100km or less if you are feeling more confident. It will usually drop you within good range for some breathing room.
Warp align to someone away from the hostiles, this will help your guns since they will more than likely be literally flying into the path of your firing and give you a cushion of safety if things get hairy.
Go for the BS's first, taking them down will help you a lot since yes they do bring a lot of dps, and if that Mach ever gets in close he'll tear you up quick. Once the BS's are down, deploy the drones this will automatically trigger the 4 lookouts that will MWD to them immediately. I bring t1 hobgoblins because I won't miss them if they get popped.
Focus on the cruisers on the way in. Usually after you lose the 1st drone the lookouts turn aggro on you (usually). Big guns/missiles on the cruisers, drones on the frigates that will ultimately be trying to web/scram you.
If you can take down a few cruisers and frigates your tank should hold even with mediocre skills. Of course bringing a friend or two will just ensure a smoother victory.
It used to take me 2 runs in a Apoc before the Patch, now that it's not deadspace anymore, 1 clean run in almost any BS that I can pilot...haven't tried it in the Scorp but than I don't really feel the need to.
Try that on for size.

lv4 right hand is one of those free money mission, you just need to warp in, kill the group containing zor + the building and warp out, with cruise at 70-100km the other groups can barely get to you when you warp out. -------------------------------------------------- Yes I'm a forum alt, what you going to do about it? |
