My corporation will soon be buying a Nyx (its been ordered , waiting for delivery date) but have been struggling with a few questions. I'm not wondering about actual fittings, I already have the fittings planned out in Quickfit. Its more how to fit it.
You cant fit it in a station, obviously, because it cant dock. However, people have been telling me that they **think** you cant fit it at a normal ship maintenance array (or another carrier in space) either, is this true? Do you need a capital ship maintenance array to fit a Nyx?
Then a second question would be, if you indeed need a capital ship maintenance array to fit it, can these arrays be unanchored?
Seeing as such an array puts a pretty large target on your POS. After doing some calculations, there's a hauler which could fit the capital ship maintenance array. If the array is then indeed needed, it could be unanchored when the Nyx has been refitted and store the hauler somewhere safe.
Anyways, hope someone can shed some light on this. Of course, we could actually wait for the Nyx to be delivered, but rather be ready and prepared (seeing its also a cost issue).

You MUST use a capital ship maint array to fit a Mothership or a Titan, NOT a regular ship maint array.

Since when can motherships not dock ? Titans cant dock, but a mothership is just a big carrier, and as far as I know there has never been any problem with docking them. You just cant build them in a typical station factory slot, and you cant jump them into high sec, just as any other capital.

From experience you can refit at another carrier or a capital ship maintenance array I've never tried to use a normal ship maintenance array but I imagine it works just fine.

Thank you Helen for clearing that up, and sorry about your loss btw.
If a carrier works, then the normal ship maint. array will most likely work as well, if not then using another carrier doesnt pose a problem seeing we have a few.

No, I meant nyx.
And previously you could petition for a GM to fit rigs onto your titan/ms.
Not sure what the case is now.
