Hello Everyone,
I fly an absolution which will run missions level 3 and 4. I was wondering what type of guns other absolution pilots use during missions.
Pulse works great in my experience but it seems to be hard to use in missions because of ships that fight long range and jam. Also, using Scorch M all the time can get pretty expensive.
Beam seems to be more viable for pve, but I have little experience using these.
Any insights? Thanks.

Beams if: you can fit full rack + your desired tank. Signature removed as it fails to comply with the rules. Also, please think of the epileptics :) -Ivan K

I definitely like beams over pulse most of the time but you can usually fit larger pulse's over the beams (like mega pulse over dual heavy beams on a BS) which gives you more DPS. I just think that it sucks to have such a short range on something near the size of a BS. I mean med pulse with a multi-crystal has an optimal range of what like 5000 meters. That is garbage, especially with how slow Amarr ships are.
So I guess I vote beams.

I always use beams, the range is crucial. Some of the rats fire from extreme range, and if they're faster than you, you'll never catch them. I used to use a full rack of megapulses on my Abaddon, but now I find it's much faster an easier to use beams, saves so much time flying around. ------ ------

only time I ever fit beams is for long range fleet setups. other then that it's pulse all the way for me, no matter if it's frig, crusier, battlecruiser or battleship. |

The only time you will have a problem with beams is when you have a very large aggro with huge dps and lots of scram frigs orbiting very close.
Cause it's just no fun when you can't tank the dps and can't kill all the scram frigs because you need to web them to hit them.
I always use pulse when starting a mission. You get higher dps and don't have to worry about scrams getting under your guns.
I haven't found a level 4 that i can't solo but some are harder because of the range issues that come with pulse and beams.

Beams for missions, Pulse if your ship gets a range bonus like the HACs.

Keeping that tank running is desired thing as well. And not easy. -------- ..... |
