To start out with, my chars about a month old. After looking for a corp for a while it has come to my understanding that you need a good amount of SP to be able to PvP in Eve. I'll state right now that I play MMOG's almost sooley to PvP. So my question is this, what is a new player supposed to do for the 6 months (guessing) it takes to train enough skills to PvP?

You can PvP from day 1.
The starting character has enough skills if created correctly to be able to put up a decent fight instantly.
If you spend a little time training for webbers and warp scramblers you'll be set.
PvP is about fitting, you could be a three year old player, but if your setup is crap, you'll die to a one month noob who has a proper setup.
But if you really want to wait for 6 months, you can run missions/rat (fighting NPC's), mine, trade, haul etc etc. Even if you only like PvP, it's always wise to have a backup profession that will be able to fund your PvP should your battles all go wrong.

I don't get it I guess. Everytime I've tried to PvP I get tore apart in like 3 hits. Am I doing something wrong or something? And also, if you can PvP decently from day 1 why do all the PvP Corps require like 5mil SP?

Sounds like you are picking the wrong targets. Find a recent loss and view the kill mail. Look at what the opponant used, how old they were in the game etc.

Not all PvP corps require 5 mill SP from day 1, you need to look elsewhere. In a battle you can "win" it for your corp by being in a frigate with a web and scambler, corps know this and recuit lower skilled players.
I said you can PvP from day one, but not that is would be easy. You'll need to pick and choose targets carefully, read up about ship types, think about what weapons are likely to be on the opponants ship and deal with them accordingly. (ie a ship you think is loaded with blasters...you might want to keep at range)
Are you setting up your ship for PvP? Are you using a multipurpose ship that you don't change fittings at all for? (ie are you fighting NPC's and then trying to fight real ppl using the same set up?) Setup is key when fighting players, both of you want to get to your optimal range and both of you want to stop the other getting to his/her optimal range.
My advice is to read the forums, you'll pick up a ton of things here and it's worth the time invested when you are starting out. If you have any more questions, just open a convo invite to me if i'm in game and i'll try and answer any questions you have (i'll be on after DT)
Yak edited to remove a word that was removed by the ingame filer even though said word was one i'd use in front of my mother...and is often seen on pavements

Ok, thanks for the advice man. I guess I'll try to learn more about outfitting ships and try to pick better targets. And if anyone reading this is in a PvP Corp that wants a newer player like myself, give me a holler.

Have a look at Agony Unleashed. They will teach newbies how to fight effectively. This is mainly about gangwarfare, groupcombat, something you could consider. However, being mainly a solo-player I have learned a lot there which benefits me in solocombat as well.

The thing is that the long time PvP'ers have got tougher ships then you and will not fight you unless they are sure they will win, and they do win every time, you might as well not even try unless you are maybe part of a group and in the back tackling and YOU are the one who started the fight with someone who is not even ready to PvP because they are up to something else.
P.S. And another thing, IMO this game is more about holding ground and not PvP. It just takes PvP to hold the space you are wanting to have to your self.
PvP for just the sake of it will be the pirates and they will only take their utmost uber ships and will only atack if they will win for shure.
The ONLY time I get attacked one on one is when I'm in a low end frig and they got an inty with uber Tech II guns no less.
I would only PvP to help hold some space and not PvP alone.
But I don't have any real reason to PvP right now my self. Basicaly that's how it is most of the time, the real PvP is setting up your ship to run and at the 1st sighn of anyone comming after you is to hit the warp unless you are sick of your ship.
The only thing about what the others said about getting in the corps that will take low SP is that you will be their slave to be told everthing what to do, but I guess that could be ok for some.

There are a few corps who take new (usually older than 2 weeks so they're out of the trial) players and help them on the merry road of PvPing. Often supplying ships and basic fittings. In EVE, ISK is cheap, manpower isn't.
New players can get involved very quickly with, say, Frigate gank squads. Don't underestimate frigate gangs. The first time you and 7 of your frigate-group take down a battleship you'll be cackling with glee.
As a solo player wanting to contribue to large fleet scale PvP.. learning Electronic Warfare skills early on is a easy route. You can be there jamming ships that you won't be able to fly for three months and make a notable contribution to any battle. :)

I'm 9 months old; yesterday I found myself tackling in a Rifter (Minmatar frigate) with T1 fittings because the gang needed an extra tackler - I flew exactly the same ship with the same fittings when I was two weeks old. =AFK=

Agreed 100% -- I just finished the PVP Basic course last night. It was a blast! I never expected by 3 weeks into the game that I'd be flying around in 0.0 helping to take out BS's!
