Make the nanfibre/inertia stabiliser nerf relate to ship size only (rather than the number of modules). The bigger the ship, the bigger the nerf.
There would only be a limited amount of nanofibre material in a module.

You know I had a friend suggest the same in chat the other day.
Make them less effective based on ship size for the MWD.
As for the nanos give them a stacking limit, say no more than 2.

Make the bonuses for them get a stacking penalty, but make the downsides not get a stacking penalty?
It's only a matter of time until we see a revelation doing doughnuts around a battleship at 500m.

This is one of those "there's a perfectly valid tactic, nerf it" whine isn't it.
It is, you know, I can tell.
By the time the Devs have finished nerfing every tactic and ship setup so that all the whiners are happy, there won't be anything left you can actually do in the game. Get over it. There is already a counter for nano-anythings. It's called a webifier.

Yah, damn whiners. If you can't see it is a problem, I'd be afraid to ask what you do see as a problem.
Agreed. CCP even stated it as an unintended side-effect
If I wanted to go with current trends I guess I could say that nanophoons are an exploit...

if MWD and nano fibres fitted and NOS if u use NOS = reduced nanofibre and ishtab effectiveness and vice versa

Meh twice in the last week, I've seen Nanomyrmidons power to a gate from their jump in point with 3 or more webs on them.
Getting a bit silly tbh. That said I'm a hypocrite because my Vagabond has 2 iStabs and 3 Nanos on it

BS shouldnt be going 4k/sec anyway. Especially how quick it can get to that speed. The point is the hacs and recon should be the solo ships but now nano bs are to good against smaller ships. The difference there only 2 bs in game that are good nano ships, typhoon and domi because of their drone bay, low slots etc.
If heavy nos didnt have the same effect then nano bs would be nerf. But true you cant nerf everything but i still believe in balance.

I've never been the 'victim' of a nanophoon, I've only ever seen one used against someone else, but I have to say - it's the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a long time! I mean, this thing was basically, unstoppable. It had 3 people on it and even webbed, it still managed to break away every time. It would swoop in, deploy drones and swoop out again, all the while firing off missiles.
Now, I'm all for diversity in ship setups, but, while this might not be an 'I win' button, used correctly, it's certainly an 'I can't lose' button.

i read alot of threads about this, but why not give them some horrible penalty or atleast a stackingnerf? Resized tag... again... hope this pleases the tag ninjas from ccp... again :p

Longer range webbers and faster/more effective webberdrones would 'nerf' nano setups and likewise expand the gameplay options rather than nerf them.

make 1 module for mass, one for agility and one for speed.
remove all other positive effects of those modules and give each one a negative side effect.
examples: thruster overdrives inrease speed by 20% but nerfs agility by 10% nanofiber structures decrese mass by 20% but nerfs agility by 10%
inertia stabs increase agility by 30% but nerv both speed and mass by 10%
It's not unrealistic that a bs can reach insane speed. the only unrealistic thing is their agility.

What would be a hilarious downside would be Nanofiber/Istab+MWD on larger hulls = constant degradation of ship structure (aka: damage) while MWDing. |

I tend to agree with this, if only because I imagine inertial stabilizers as adding an extra set of manoeuvering thrusters, nanofibers replacing the hull with lightweight materials and overdrives as making the main engine more powerful vs the mysterious space-drag of the EVE sector.

Step 1 - Get a small gang / fleet Step 2 - Bring 3 friends Step 3 - You and your 3 friends get in a Cormorant (caldari destroyer) Step 4 - Fit them with 1x Sensor Booster, 2x decent named webbers 1x mwd Step 5 - Deploy your 3 Cormorants evenley spaced around the gate @7.5km Step 6 - Lock nanowhatver in 2 seconds, watch his speed plumate. Step 7 - activate mwd, click aproach, sit back and watch the fleet hand his ass to him. -
