Quote: Just to keep you updated, we are working fevereshly on testing the new patch, commonly called Castor. It will be deployed as soon as we consider it healthy enough today or the next couple of days. We will have a special downtime for the update so you don't need to wait for the next scheduled downtime.
Key words: as soon as we consider it healthy enough...Stop your bloody moaning people
The last major patch was a complete disaster and the game was unplayable. I would personally wait a few days longer if it means this one is relativley bug free.
Make a difference

I vote they take all the time they need to get it right. Better a short delay and a decent patch then a pos patch rushed out the door.

I'm not upset. CCP should take there time, Update when they are good and ready and not a minute before.

people arnt getting mad about the patch not comming out, they are getting mad at CCP for saying they are going to release it and then don't release it. If ccp hadn't of said anything about releasing the patch today then none of these threads would exist, and most of us wouldnt be on here *****ing about it

If they released it and the game was unplayable youd moan at CCP for releasing buggy codes

It's going to be buggy code no matter when they release it. Are we allowed to get mad then?

come on people, you forgot to translate into Icelandic CCP standard time apparently (it¦s not as if this were a new phenomenon).
here¦s how:
planned = it was in the original game design document, but we never got around to it. since it¦s only been nearly a year since the game came out the respective feature will be released in the near future.
in the near future = we might get around to it eventually.
soon(tm) = 4-8 weeks, or next year whichever is longer; at which point soon(tm) turns into next week.
next week = 2-4 weeks, or the next saturday, provided the following monday and tuesday are not business days.
on monday = well we were planning on wednesday, but had to delay to friday, which means monday in a week. maybe.
today = today+3 days
wednesday = friday.
friday = monday.
monday = yeah right. as if anything has ever been released on a monday. first we gotta do some testing, then maybe wednesday.
forgive the venom, but to be honest this would have been the first time CCP managed to get a patch released on the announced date.

Just my $.02:
I would rather castor get put in place as a thoroughly tested and tried update, rather than a clusterf__k that causes more harm than good... It's a big patch, and lots of things are changing. Let's hope we get it after they get all the REALLY ugly bugs out of the system. Don't mind me... I'm just a pigment of your imagination. |

i dont think you can realy test the new patch on Chaos. You can pinpoint the bugs, yeah, but you the real testing still WILL be on TQ, followed by many-many hotfixes.

Lots of people I know logged in yesterday and moved into empire ahead of this patch, just due to the amount of changes about to happen they wanted to start in safe space.
Now i guess they'll log in and prolly out again as they find no patch, and they now along way from the usual hunting/mining areas. I myself also find I've got my BS / Hauler and miner all back at stations awaitiing to see whats what after the patch..
So in that i carn't really do much in game right now so think maybe I'll jump on chaos... just like every other man and his dog.. yup its full..
so I'm going to go *shudder watch TV and see if they patch tomorrow,
But... got me thinking... maybe CCP should Freeze the Data now (except maybe skills due to number ppl that would complain to loosing a few days learning),
Turn Castor on and give 2-3Days before rolling back to current data, Least then we can test it real time - with decent numbers and loose our ships learning the new dynamics of the game.
Side effect of this would be the non-PvPers getting a one-off chance to test out that urber fitting he's got planned for when he faces a Pirate.
Any ways Here to a night with out EvE
