There is little left for me than to reiterate what others like Admiral Blake and Captain Onzo already expressed so skillfully. My loyalty lies of course with our designated Empress Catiz Tash-Murkon.
Odelya d'Hanguest wrote:We urge all subjects of the Great Khanid Kingdom and all those loyal to the house of Khanid to join us in our plea to His Majesty to continue his reign. Not in the Kingdom as much as the Empire.
While Khanid sat awaiting his death and the Empire held it's tournament, Sansha Kuvakei's forces were engaged in an incursion in Sarum Prime one jump away.
As my cousin Odelya pointed out, the concept of Shathol'Syn needs to be dropped. The Empire has too many enemies, within and without, to afford slaughtering the best of it's leadership. Duke Farokh is a capable leader, but will he be a King or just an Heir? And Sacred Flesh? If it wasn't for this little slice of conservatism, Jamyl Sarum would be alive today. Science teaches us that the species best able to adapt to it's surroundings is the one most likely to survive. We are not in the same galaxy that we were in a thousand years ago. If the Empire can't evolve, the Empire will surely perish.
The one hope in this, is that Empress Apparent Catiz just might be progressive enough to make these changes.

If you had told me a year ago, that I'd live to see a progressive Udorian on the Throne, I'd have thought you mad.
But God has spoken and even the most conservative "True Amarr" must now swear faith. I think a part of me would find mirth in this.
However, the Tash-Murkon's were raised up to fill the void left by Khanid. I see in the words of the official proclamation that even now, Khanid, once the proud Kingdom that stood firm against the Empire, is again seen as just a "House" among the others. While this is probably a good move for the Empire, this signals the death of my heritage. I look forward to a Udorian Amarr, but I don't rejoice at the death of the Kingdom.
"The angelic Apostles of Heaven sing praises for their children! Our Lord smiles upon the world. Where the Emperor rules in his name Leading his people to glory untold. Hearken the trumpets of Heaven Hailing the people of Amarr." -- The Scriptures. Anoyia 17:21.
I too must admit defeat at the hands of House Tash-Murkon and will resign myself to reflections of the past, present and the future. As a PROUD Cyberknight however I do congratulate the victors in honorable combat.

Clinging to one man is the opposite of evolving.
300 years is reasonable amount of time for a smart and savvy ruler to establish a solid foundation for his kingdom and its people, raise remarkable young leaders, make strong and profitable alliances. Have at least some faith in your King and meet change with an open mind for the good of the Kingdom and Empire as a whole. |

We look forward to new prosperity and renewed strength as the Empire shows the rest of the cluster the pathway to God. Let all who live to witness these times observe as the Empress takes her throne, the Imperial Crusade continues to drive back the enemy as the Minmatar suffer crushing defeat after crushing defeat, and God's will shines brightly for all to see as we look forward to a future where Amarr leads all of the lost peoples of New Eden to bow at God's feet.

Tradition holds that the other five Heirs will go through with Shathol'syn at the coronation. The order to do so is the first order given by the new Empress, as Empress, to complete the transition between the previous Emperor or Empress to the new.
Presumably, an announcement is forthcoming as to when this will take place, but there is no need to rush things.

The reason for the Shathol'Syn is to prevent precisely this separation you speak of. Your lord has mad a choice; an honorable one. The lords of the houses give their lives in respect of the Faith and the empire. Don't shame your self , or your lord ... and certainly don't shame mine. |

You are refering to the Rite of Shathol'Syn, you can read more information here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=6299702
I for one find this ancient ritual to be repulsive (especially in light of the Drifter's power) but I understand the reason it was established in the first place.
If you look close enough you see that even the rulers don't want to commit suicide ( Khanid King and especially the late Empress Jamyl Sarum I come to my mind - both of them effectively cheated their way out of suicide one way or another)..
I don't belive in reincarnation
I've never believed in it in my previous lives either...

I never will bend the knee in front of her. How said my friend. Even until the coronation to the throne heir must prove that he is worthy of the Golden Throne.
