There were... complications! In the last minute a major bug or something was detected by a player on Chaos (Test) server.
I think the patch will come this week someday, together with a 3 hours DT.

You run many MMO's ?? Tell us what it's like - and whilst you're at it - tell us how you would do things better. I'm interested.
Specifics mind you - remember - you're an expert in managing successful MMO's ... right?

some people are cranky today...
monday is more like soonday. I'd rather that anything unforseen that pops up is dealth with before it gets exploited to heck...
but maybe some of us have been used to this kind of thing for years...

I was listening to eve radio and the DJ said that if everything went well (and it was going very well at the time) the patch should be tomorrow.
That is if nothing went wrong they would be able to patch tomorrow. Ofcourse people are familiar with Murphy¦s law
I advice if you feel extreme anger that the patch not to let your life evolve around a video game. The right reactions to this news would not be extreme anger but mild annoyance __________ Capacitor research |

cerrect me if im wrong, chaos is limited, when that or any other patch comes live sides were going to see bugs that they didnt catch, maybe its the amount of players maybe not

They should wait until patch 1337 for EVE, and patch it to there. HAHA! Get it? 1337?
The patch will come when it does. We're lucky to be playing such a fun game. -----------------------------------------------

I understand things can go wrong and the guys at ccp is only humans, if you can call islandic people that But due to theur resent history with keeping promises and dates. I dont see why they even bothered setting a date.
Least to say im a litlle dissapointed -------------------------------------------------> What I look forward to is continued immaturity followed by death.

Good god people, give it a rest.
Which one would you rather take, a patch in time that blows up the first day, or a well-working patch with some delay?

It's quite simple and CCP should have learned by now:
- Only one person/entity makes official announcements
- Dont announce anything unless you're sure you can live up to it

First off I am used to game devs fibbing on release dates for patches, and I personally won't get to worked up unless the delay turns into weeks instead of days.
That said, the argument you are using Clone9, is the weakest one that gets dragged up on BBSs' and in real life.
Quick question for you, are you an expert at everything you use? You an expert cook? Can you build and manufacture a car from scratch (from the iron mine to the show room floor)? Can you run an Airline company, from buying planes, scheduling them, and keeping them maintained? Can you run a country, setup a constitution, draw up laws? etc......?
If not than I guess you never complain about anything that is not in your very narrow field of expertise, you never complain when a product does not work as advertised or even how you believe it should work, you just sit there and keep your mouth shut?
Sure you do. You don't have to be an expert at everything that you may have a gripe about, it helps if you are nit-picking details down to a line of code. But I don't believe you have to be a coding expert in order to complain about missed deadlines on a MMORPG.

All this build-up, and what an anti-climax..
Gotta look on the bright side; atleast we can still use un-nerfed MWDs until Castor is released

Chill out guys, patch is coming, and looks great from what i see on chaos. Some things I don't like, as they negatively effect me, but, they are balanced for the most part, and will bring months of new things to build/train/blowupsell etc. Evolution..... Just when you thought you were winning.

imo if they found a bug on chaos AFTER announcing the release of patch they should hav never given a date.
Advice to CCP: dont p*** of the ppl who pay u, without us there is no game and without a game u hav no money. be honest and keep ur promises, only way to win us over.

Clone STFU.
CCP has had over 3 months to get this patch "Ready for Prime Time". If it was not ready they should never have announced a patch date. PERIOD.
Patches should be frozen on Chaos for at least a week prior to any proposed release date.

kikoo

Rough translation
kikoo perhaps CCP's patch , it is which one feels the diference between CCP and one limps as that which deals with Daoc. a council ccp, to turn its language 7 times in its mouth before speaking, for my part you lost part of your credibilitÚe. PS: then think of French also please, Ca you coute nothing to transcribe your French texts in same temp..... ni |

Holy dream scenario, Batman!
Can I come work for your company, because I have never seen a software release happen that way, without bugs being spotted and corrected along the way. sometimes with delays, sometimes without. And the releases and patches are always announced, promised and signed way before any code freeze.

LMAO - You miss the point by a large margin. It's all about context.
If I think a law is unfair - and I watch someone go to jail for the rest of their life because of something I disagree with --- or if I thought a war that was being fought with my taxes and people were being killed for something I didn't believe in --- I would moan like hell .. and I do. Why? Because these are issues with real meaning and consequence. This however - is just a game.
But if you think that going on the forums that CCP have provided us with and calling them 'a joke' is in anyway a mature, fair and reasonable way to act then that is your right.
I happen to disagree.
