Can we get a sticky for this with answers?
What Cap Ships can dock in a NPC Station?
What's the difference between a Cap Ship and a Mothership?
With a carrier, how can a solo pilot load ships into the Ship Array? Eject from Carrier in safespot and pilot other ship to carrier and dock? Or does the carrier pilot scoop ships into the ship bay?
How does someone change modules using a cap ship? Can this be done with a Tier 1 Carrier, or only with Motherships?
Add any other questions and answers. I'd like to see ISD post the answers in a new sticky thread.
Thanks!

Edited by: Jarjar on 19/02/2007 20:59:11 HERE is a good FAQ.
I'll answer what I know... All capital ships except for Motherships (Tier 2 carriers) and Titans can dock. The difference is the same as the difference between a car and a BMW. Capital ships include Freighters, Carriers (and Motherships), Dreadnoughts and Titans. The Freighters are the only capital ships that can use stargates.

What Cap Ships can dock in a NPC Station?
Dreadnaughts and carriers can dock at all stations; Motherships and Titans cannot.
What's the difference between a Cap Ship and a Mothership?
I assume you mean Carrier and Mothership.
A mothership is essentially a much larger version of the Carrier, while the Carrier is intended for small to medium gang support, the Mothership can support larger fleets. It had a Higher Corporate Hanger storage capacity, more room to store ships and can launch a lot more Fighters than a carrier. They have the added perk of being immune to all forms of electronic warfare, this means no webs, no scramblers, ECM, Damps etc ets. to worry about. The only way to prevent a Mothership from warping is Interdiction Spheres or Mobile warp Disruptor units.
With a carrier, how can a solo pilot load ships into the Ship Array? Eject from Carrier in safespot and pilot other ship to carrier and dock? Or does the carrier pilot scoop ships into the ship bay?
You can either load the ship into the Ship Maint. Array whilst docked, or scoop the ships after the pilot has ejected while in space.
How does someone change modules using a cap ship? Can this be done with a Tier 1 Carrier, or only with Motherships?
This can be down with either Carriers or Motherships. It works in exactly the same was as the POS version of the Ship Maintenance Array.
- First make sure your module settings are set to 'Show passive modules', 'Show Empty Module Slots' and be sure to Unlock Modules.
- Have any modules you wish to fit in your ships cargo bay.
- Move to within 5000m of the Carrier/Mothership.
- Unfit modules by dragging the icons from their icon slots to your cargo, fit modules by dragging from your cargo to free icon slots. -----

Should be able to yes, not that i'd advise removing modules under fire.
May seem trivial but no, you cannot refit your own carrier using its own ship maintenance array. (Yeah, I tried it ) -----

If memory serves you cannot; the normal method is either eject said ship (say an industrial) and have an alt or corpmate board it, and then you can access the content of the cargo. A more risky way would be ejecting from the carrier, and then boarding the ejected ship.

Freighters are a bit odd. As well as their ability to use stargates, you don't need the 'Capital Ships' skill to pilot them. On the other hand, the item database describes them as capital ships, they're built out of capital ship components, and they cost roughly the same as an unfitted carrier.
I suppose those are grounds for calling them capital ships, but some people might disagree.

This is correct. -----
